I hope Red Bull's have something up their sleeves. Dax was the heart and soul

$200,000 shows how far we are from Europe in professional soccer. And we wonder why ratings on NBC for PL blows away MLS ratings.

It was actually $400,000 and it's not a transfer fee. It's Allocation money

Allocation money allow for teams to exceed their salary cap/budget to bring in impact players. That money can be pooled for greater impact.

That being said the MLSs transfer fees are small compared to other leagues.

The club/DA program is how old? Just because they're MLS they should be #2 right away? They're building from the ground up with their younger affiliate feeder program. They're not perfect but are well poised to succeed

            - not at NYCFC

First of all that piece is opinion and not entirely fact based. But Atlanta isn't fighting for talent in an over-saturated DA market or against a well entrenched top MLS program like the Red Bulls. This helped AU as well I'm sure "As a note, in six months Atlanta United’s already signed as many Homegrowns as San Jose has in a decade (and both are USYNT mainstays)."

With Man City's money NYCFC should have an awesome academy. They don't even have the all of the ages represented. it's a matter of priorities and NYCFC hasn't prioritized

Orlando came in the same year as NYCFC and is ranked higher. NY metro area is much larger than Atlanta, even dividing into a half. Also NYCFC is way more central than Red Bull's.

Man City competes with a man United and Man City has the better English Academy

The Revs aren't much higher and we know that's a poorly run program. management and interest is key. Some of these clubs don't even want to be involved with DA - costs them money and resources with very little reward

NYCFC should be embarrassed to be in the same sentence as Revs.

Some harsh words from Dax. Clearly Red Bulls could have handle it much more professionally

Interesting data on the number of DAP homegrown players in MLS.
