Youth soccer is as bad an analogy for socialism as sharing Halloween candy.
The high end of it is a product of the free market. Luxury product that you buy is you can afford it and you want it. If you can't or dont want it, you can skip it. No requirement to participate. No requirement to pay another's child. It is like a fancy car that the market will provide to you if you want it but you are not fundamentally deprived if you don't have one.
I though we were trying to stay in the soccer world-now you want to go back out to the real world
make up your mind
I have never been in a bubble. The single factor that draws people to this country is Economic Freedom. If you haven't had a raise in ten years, find another job, move, or take on a second job, a hobby some other endeavor to increase your income. Take a course, learn a new skill, the possibilities are nearly endless.
In a state like CT there are a myriad of ways to arrange a transfer of wealth from those that have it , into your pocket. If you like being told how bad things are, keep tuned to the main stream media.
Yes you are, just look at your post. All theoretical, but not practical. When was the last time you walked a manufacturing plant and spoke with the people that work there? When was the last time you had a real conversation with a parent trying to make ends meet on less than $30k a year? Do not lie, you have not. People that have do not talk like you do and do not have time to post on TS in the middle of the afternoon. These people are all around, and yet you are blind. Do not label me as socialist. I am as capitalistic as they come. Not everyone is going to be an entrepreneur. But does that mean never get a raise and struggle forever? Yes, you are bubble boy.
Competitive youth soccer is a fine example of a free market product. All soccer. Buy it or dont.
then my analogy stands- does your club tell you that you are paying for other players? in the case of DA possibly full freight for whole teams do you get less practices for same $$$ less qualified coaches?

My club does not do that. If your does, and you object, you should find a different club.

It would be better if you dropped your assumptions, projections and ramblings and just concentrated on specifics.
It is practical.
This is a soccer board. So let's connect the dots. Twenty years ago, what was the GDP of the Youth Soccer Industry compared to today ? How much " new income" has been generated by that difference ? How much new revenue has entered the revenue stream, to be broken up and distributed to organizations clubs, Administrators, Referees, hotels, eateries , etc etc. How many tax dollars have been contributed from those earnings?
Do you now understand my point when I stated that you can arrange a transfer of wealth from those that have it ?

how much of that $$$ goes back in the form of scholarships both at the youth level and college?
certainly not 1 for 1 but a certain % does return

That's irrelevant. I am speaking of the opportunity to make income dollars from the dramatic increase in soccer participation over the past twenty years. Any other benefits or consequences are a different conversation. in reality, hoping for a scholarship or other financial advantage return from soccer is very low on the scale compared to some other opportunities.
1-your club doesnt have an "A" team (A ,DAP, ECNL)
or
2- you have no idea what is going on at your club my guess is #2
Are you paying attention out there? There is club after club hawking their wares.
Go out and find one to your liking. Start the "capitalist crushers" to serve that deprived market that wants to escape those old fashioned socialist youth soccer club. Take your ball and go home. No one cares. It is kid soccer and it is a free market.

all of what you mention are options- im just giving you your reality, like anything else if you dont mind neither do they
i dont mind at all

You have no clue how it works. Even if your club only has one team per age most likely you are subsidizing a scholarship or two for a few players on your kids' teams or other teams. Even more so if you're at a big club with multiple teams per age group. If you're at a DA club, USSF edict is that clubs lower the fees to DA players (unless it's a free-to-play MLS club). To do that clubs take the profits from the other teams (yours) to help lower the prices to the DA teams.

it isnt irrelevant because the cost of college is fueling this rise in youth sports, not just soccer
how much has college tuition gone up in the last 20 years. and its not just soccer lax, football AAU hoops, prospect days, recruiting camps
the whole focus on these things is to get $$$$ for college and its a booming business
Half this thread is irrelevant drivel perpetrated by Wilton interns to distract from the sht sho their h.s. program is. Throw this guy Sherman in the stocks and cancel the program for the next four years. The CIAC has no ballz.
