32 hours round trip to Burlingame in the ThornMobile.

      18 bags of cheetos consumed.

Four cases of Red Bull guzzled.

Six hours on the side of the road pouring water bottles on the radiator.

      The memories? Priceless.

Don't be a snob. Kids will be kids.
That's s long drive to Burlingame!

I love old vans but I sure hope they have someone along who is a fix-it person. They are not the most reliable vehicles on the road. The last thing you want is to be stuck on the side of the road and miss soccer games.

These are relatively easy to work on. As long as you have simple tools supplies and YouTube you'll be fine.

Not exactly true, you can be totally awesome in soccer most colleges will not even consider you if you have a 2.0 GPA. The lower the GPA the better you have to be to get a college to accept you.

If you have a low GPA you better be shooting for the PRO's or you are wasting your time.

You are better off being an average soccer player with a 4.0 GPA.

Your GPA better be much higher than 2.0 plus high ACT/SAT score. Don't forget the leadership skills, the community service, the courses taken, yada, yada.

If you only have a 2.0 gpa you shouldn't be spending hours per day on sports when you should be studying.

If your kids is concerned about people watching them play, or their classmates cheering them on or community support, then they are misguided and thinking about the wrong things. Those things are not important. High school extra circulars are not important.
Give it all up and train with the thorns. You can hang out with friends once you get into your 30's.

Unfortunately US soccer expressly prohibits a try out fee so that's good. It lowers the barrier to participate. Always good.
This is a well established model. All teams charge a try out fee to bring in pools of cash upfront it is not unusual or bad.

US Soccer is a shell organization that will not care either way.

They get the entire team in that? That’s a long drive to play bad Burlingame teams .

$150 is not a big deal. The soccer isn’t that great but that’s not because of a try out fee.

If they get 6 or seven kids to try outs they get about a grand. Not bad for a couple hours work.

One thing the thorns have going for them is they travel in style.
