And if you are a 1-6 starting playing, you'll likely play 1680 min all regular season.

The bottom of the roster knows Academy is only for the top of the roster. They aren't doing Academy for the playing time. Every girl that tried out knew the rules going in. No surprises.

Sounds like Oregon Ecnl but better. Oregon Ecnl is really bad with many kids not playing

Eventually the GDA will get better or it will simply fold. The DA has done an awful job on the mens side so hopefully they don't do too much damage to the women's side.

The bulk of the teams are returning players. They will get most of the playing time. The bench will stick around for the patch or rotate out every year. Fun to have a nice new option for girls in Oregon regardless.

The whole idea of a DA for a nation this large is kind of ridiculous.

If they were serious they would force the merger of US Club and US Youth Soccer and have only two types of leagues within. The first being a traditional travel league, roughly one per county with as many divisions as needed to handle the numbers with standard promotion/relegation. The second being a regional league, roughly one per state with as many divisions as needed to handle the numbers with standard promotion/relegation. Specific geographies may require some exceptions to this.

With this structure there would be no where pop-up training organizations and coaches could lure in top players with some claim to have won some meaningless league that no one has ever heard of because the landscape was so divided. Instead it would be abundantly clear to everyone as to which clubs consistently put out top teams because everyone would be playing in the same exact leagues. And the top players would automatically migrate to those top teams and clubs.

You could still have your ID Camps and such to catch the exceptional player that for whatever reason stays with their local club but this kind of system would have done far more for US Soccer than the stupid birth year changes and DA programs.

Hopefully it does get better. The dead fish rotting in the sun comparison seems fitting. The Beaverton cup trophy might be fun but it's not helping the kids get better.

The Beaverton cup was fun. What's your point?

Regarding wins and losses vs the Oregon ECNL teams I actually think the Thorns will do well. Unfortunately the talent is still split in this state as the only team that really combined talent was Onyx. Games against teams like Burlingame, Lamorinda, PSV Union, California Thorns. It may have been different had the top teams like DeAnza, Mustang or Davis joined but this schedule is built for success for Ws
