    [img]http://www.westpinesunited.org/imgs/west%20pines%20strikers%20logo.jpg[/image]

The West Pines Strikers is excited to announce the hiring of Jose Francisco Garcia Quevedo as Director of Coaching, effective immediately. Jose was most recently a coach in Spain at Valencia C.F., which plays in La Liga and is one of the most successful and biggest clubs in Spanish and European Football.

The Lliria, Spain, native holds a UEFA PRO license and a UEFA “A” license from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). Jose worked with the Valencia C.F. first team, spending six years with the Spanish team as a trainer and technical analyst. He has over 23 years of soccer experience as a player and coach, beginning as a player in the C.F Lliria’s youth development system, senior player at C.F. Lliria and Athletico Benaguasil, and coaching at Vallbonense, Levante U.D.F. and Valencia C.F. Garcia also worked with the RFEF as a trainer and instructor of coaches.

“Jose is the perfect choice to lead The West Pines Strikers program, its’ coaches and players to new heights,” said President Dan Murphy. “He brings to us extensive experience in soccer methodology, coaching development and player development. Jose will be instrumental in charting a new course that will continue to grow our club’s influence regionally and nationally.”

With a Masters in Exercise Physiology and Physical Fitness in Soccer, and Specialist degree in Psychology of Sport and Physical Training from University of Valencia, Garcia will look to implement programs focused on player development, coaching enhancement, program development and overseeing and implementing a unique training curriculum.

“I want to bring my enthusiasm and experience to further create a soccer culture and environment that encourages the development of the complete player, allowing players to solve problems on their own with great technique and tactical awareness”, said Garcia. “I will oversee an integrated player development system that will allow our players to progress from youth academy stage to our elite teams, utilizing a similar philosophy and style of play, an offensive style, a dominant style, and with an emphasis on possession and quick movement of the ball.”

Jose and his wife, Ana, are relocating from Spain with their two daughters, Blanca and Paula. Please join the WPU Board of Directors and Club in welcoming Jose and his family to our South Florida community. We believe we are very fortunate to have attracted a Director of Jose’s vast experience at all levels of the game internationally. We are convinced his skills, experience and personality will have a significant and immediate impact on our club.

Hey, easy. The guy is a nobody.
He's got a heavy Spanish accent and will try to convince and impress the force that be at the club that he can turn the fortunes of the club around.

Same President that jumped ship on the club, is trying out anything for the club now, since his kid got rejected by the mighty machine a block away in Weston. How things would have been different if Weston accepted his kid as the star that daddy thinks his kid is.

Although here in the States just about anyone can coach an MLS team without a license, in Europe a Uefa Pro Lic. is required to manage a football club.

The UEFA Pro Licence is the final coaching qualification available, and follows the completion of the UEFA 'B' and 'A' Licences.

A UEFA Pro Licence is required by anyone who wishes to manage a football club in the top level of the nation's league system on a permanent basis (i.e. more than 12 weeks – the amount of time an unqualified caretaker manager is allowed to take control). This applies to both the head coach or team manager, and such a licence is also required to manage in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Cup.

                              ...how about them apples?!
