The Lincoln-Sudbury athletic program is about to embark into a brave new world. Flying in the face of tradition, Warrior team are looking into eliminating team captains as the role is now preceived and replacing them with what is termed shared leadership. What is shared leadership? Instead of having anywhere from one captain to as many as four or five, L-S teams will be led by a council of students. That council could be all the seniors or anyone and everyone on the roster. Athletic director Nancy O’Neil feels athletics are a great vehicle for shared leadership and all the benefits she sees in the concept.

Captains should not be picked by the team, it should be picked by the coach. No, I don't have a senior who wasn't chosen.

Some sports like Ice Hockey only Captains can question and speak to the refs. It is actually a rule, what is L-S going to do? This is ridiculous.
