Go to the ga and ecnl websites, find the conference the teams you are considering, and then use Google maps to plot out the potential opponents. The ecnl list is most likely going to stay the same whereas the ga list might be different in a few months if they change alignments (which is rumored). As of this minute, travel for ecnl teams in nj is better than their ga counterparts.
More or less would be the same. I would assume 2 “fly away” events and a couple pretty far drives. If you are at wc or pda white and play ne conference you need to travel to Massachusetts at least twice for league games aince theres three teams there. Then there is South Carolina and Florida. Theres usually a Florida event in fall as well or in winter. So 2 events are definitely flying, one could be and then you have stuff like Jeff Cup, Delco, etc.
GA would have had California for Fall and Florida for spring, along with NC and other tournaments. Add in Seacoast, SSS and Nefc and you also have at least a couple of trips to MA. So more or less the same travel level.
ECNL has more "regional" events, often times aligned with holiday weekends plus with one less day, so less missed school and work. Having more events gives teams more to pick and chose from based on what makes sense for them.
League wise the game travel is kind of similar. However GAL usually only has one game per weekend, so that's a lot of travel for one game. ECNL groups two games away one weekend, two games home the next.
PDA white has a little tougher travel schedule, whereas the other three have it pretty good. Have to go to Maryland and PA 2x each. So 4 OOS other than tourneys. PDA South has the best schedule. They never travel more than 2 hours and 3/4 of their games are either no travel or within an hour.
ECNL much more reasonable by far. Plus GA travels forward one game weekends to VA, MD etc which is just crazy.
How do you figure much more? Comparing NA ECNL to MA GA travel really depends on which club you play for and where you live. The VA clubs for GA so far Arlington in moving to MA ECNL and rumor is if FCV doesn't get ECNL they will be partnering with BRYC so Virginia trips next year might be out all together. I think both are about the same in terms of suck for travel.
The real issue is the travel to play the level of competition each has.

Correct about PDA White. Incorrect about PDA South. They do have games in MD and yes they have to travel more than 2-3 hrs.

Someone else pointed out GAL is usually one game a weekend, ECNL two. With so few quality clubs you might drive a long way to play a crap team in GAL. Depending on distance and game time you may still need a hotel overnight too. There's still crap in ECNL, but there's a better chance one of the two games are decent, making the drive and hotel stay a little more worthwhile
