Hello-
When will it be announced the league that clubs will play in next year? Specifically , looking at sjeb and real.
Applications for ECNL and the GA are both closed as of now. Both leagues have been slowly sending out information as to the new clubs in each. For sjeb and real, it would be in their best interests to give that information out prior/during tryouts, but it might not be under their control. For sjeb - extremely unlikely they are playing anywhere but in the GA. For real - the GA is so new anything is possible, but not sure their intent is to have more teams in NJ. really just guessing for that.
Is the information public regarding who applied to what?
No, usually safe to assume any semi popular club applies to ECNL yearly. SJEB has teams already planning for Champions League and Nationals in GA so if I had to guess GA is where they will stay for another year at least.
As for Real, they really don't have the teams to fill out a club v club league like GA or ECNL. Doesn't mean GA would accept them since they lost Arlington and most of the division here sucks anyway.
So what team would have better exposure? Based on league.... or does it not matter.
Ecnl..... and then everyone else?
Exposure is very much team specific as you can have a very good usys team that travels a lot and gets noticed, but in general ecnl showcases have the most coaches checking them out. Look at the team and see where they go. I think most people would agree it comes to the player though. Good players will get noticed regardless of league.
The reality is though that your USYS team better be really, really good if you expect exposure to the better schools. GA will get some more and ECNL by far the most. SO it is always the individual's journey and no club or team makes a player but remember, unless there is a real reason your player cant get on an ECNL/MLSN team, coaches are going to wonder why you're playing a lower league and may ultimately demand that you switch teams by junior year. It definitely happens.

Good advice. I would add that the GA events will probably be well attended this year (and next?) as a lot of college coaches are both curious and also have been watching some of the older players from the GDA days. In future years, nobody knows.

They should take Real in a heartbeat, they are already destroying teams like CSA 7-1. Maybe that’s why they don’t get in they will destroy all the current GA clubs. Oh well. That’s the problem with the youth soccer system in this country. Not the best teams or clubs just who has the connections and pays to play.

Singular good teams don't make a club. Both ECNL and GA are club league that are built on that concept. It's understandable to not like that (I know I don't), but that's the environment we're dealing with.

Yes - the benefits of club v club leagues usually outweigh the negative of missing an occasional team. ECNL/GA allow for a club coaching staff to cover multiple games in one day.

I know but some of those clubs really stink. That’s what makes it an awful system.
Agreed that some clubs are not very good. If there was some sort of way to just address the perennial poor performers that would be good. If a club goes 2-3 years with say 60%+ of its teams in the bottom 3 places of their conferences, they should be removed. Clearly there's clubs with no interest in fielding good teams and who don't hire the best coaches.
