You guys understand this was the u23's and not the actual USMNT right? They were across the ocean playing a friendly against Northern Ireland.

You do realize they were playing the U23's from Hondurus.

Your and others points about our national team make no sense. The men's olympics are u23 for soccer so as not to step on the toes of the world cup. We have plenty of men under 23 on the regular usmnt but they didn't play. How can you say our quality of play isn't going up when you aren't even grading the right team?

The United States should be able to field 4 U23 teams and qualify for the Olympics

Should but can't because that's not the reality. All of our best talent plays on the regular usmt, and we aren't deep enough yet for your reality. Would be nice to have multiple teams full of Adams, Pulisic, Reyna, Steffan, etc. but we aren't there yet. We will be eventually.

US are pretty deep, the player pool is extensive, however player selection continues to be an issues for the USMNT. I have faith in the player pool, I have little faith in those selecting and managing the players. Berhalter is average at best.

As for Olympic Qualification, the US have enough players to have at least two solid U23 teams with players playing in European leagues, however those players are not being released from their clubs. Honduras is fielding their first team against what was essentially a US 3rd or 4th team. Sucks we didn�t qualify and it�s meaningful to us as a soccer community, but in the world of soccer, it�s a meaningless event.
