too many premier clubs in CT?

There are currently 44 different premier clubs with teams registered to play in the EDP Connecticut league this Spring. One is from Rhode Island. The rest are all from Ct. Does anyone really think this state is big enough to support 44 different "premier" clubs?

And what does this say about EDP as a league? What a joke, the kids suffer and the parents get fleeced.

CT is number four in population density by state. That would carry over to soccer players as well. So while we have a small state by area, the density yields more above average players per square mile than other places. That being said, I wouldn’t call these premiere teams, but one level up from Rec.

Most have just taken the place of town teams or are in reality just actual town teams.

Agreed! So called premier label with average coaching and sub par players for most. Like top shelf liquor bottles filled with generic booze!

Bottle service expectation with low level quality at best. Everyone believes that they are getting better product just because they pay more.

Plenty are tiny, only have a few teams or ulittles. Plenty are premier in name only. The free market system eventually weeds out the fly by night under performers. Families new to the landscape need to ask lots of questions - preferably with people in real-life not TS posters

EDP has multiple levels and promotes/relegates. They filled in the gap after CJSA basically washed their hands of running CT soccer

Sure many of these teams should be town travel. That would make the most sense. But that ship sailed in every sport years ago. Paid travel teams all took over. But let’s not bash EDP. Let’s Bash the Ecnl and Ecnl 2 nonsense going on at fsa. Losing to low level EDP teams today. That is the highest scam going
