    Tophat begging to get out

Y’all debate about GAL vs ECNL constantly and the debate should not even exist....GAL’s undisputed top club is begging to get out. Check out to what lengths they are going to do so.

You don’t think the top club in GAL knows what’s happening with the league?

That “petition” is 9 months old. GTFO with your bull****. Maybe you should start collecting signatures on change.org to get your airline tickets refunded for the cancelled ECNL showcase that was supposed to start in 36 hours.

When ECNL allows Tophat back in, the GA will crumble

It’s definitely a when rather than if at this point. The problem for GAL is this will not be limited to just Tophat, others may be lining up an exit as well. FCV, NEFC etc. it’s just a domino effect but the rich will get richer in ECNL and GAL will have to add other clubs but that will only water down the product. Shame as the best teams (not clubs) should play in one league and that’s it. This whole nonsense with dozens of leagues really hurts the game.

GA ain’t crumbling - unlike the DA which was sponsored by US Soccer, the GAL is independent. As long as parents are willing to write checks for a national league GAL will exist - it will most likely be second fiddle to ECNL but it’s not going anywhere...and frankly competition is good it will keep ECNL on their toes.

There has been a lot of movement of players this winter. Parents see the writing on the wall for GA. Watch PDA and MF max out their rosters for this spring

Good post until the “competition is good” part. 11-0 and 14-0 games sure don’t tell anyone competition is good.

More than 1/3 of the players left pda blew composite for non ECNL teams. Maybe you should apply there.

Competition between the leagues. If ECNL knows there are other national options they are forced to keep their “game” up. The fact another national league exists makes sure ECNL doesn’t have a monopoly. That is what poster meant. Better for the consumer to have options.

Most of the players by U18/19 are already committed, so Composite teams usually don’t make much effort to attend showcase at that age group. Players leaving a Composite team at PDA probably went to teams with a lot of players still looking for college commitments willing to go to showcases. FWIW, Composite Blue at PDA is the C team at that age group.

Great, I thought pda south was the C team. So are they D now with this composite team?
