White uniforms -- why?

Not just white uniforms, but white shorts. We aren�t Real Madrid and can�t replace the shorts every game. They look like trash after four weeks. Don�t get me started on soccer.com taking all summer to ship a full order.

Blue. Every club is blue. Even the ones that used to be red. Local clubs need to expand the color range.

How about goalie uniforms? The colors are usually awful. Highlighter green/orange/yellow... did the uniform designers just give up on puting in any creatvie effort by the time they got around to designing the goalie uniforms?

Why doesn�t someone make a uniform that has like a goretex type layer that is waterproof but breathable for cold wet climates like ours? Parents would pay big bucks for that.

Saw a team with sunshine yellow jerseys this weekend with white numbers and text. You couldn't read anything, even when they were 10 ft from you. Adidas, whyyyy?

Funny thread - agree with all. Will add -- let girls wear uniforms designed for females, and enough with putting numbers on training jerseys and shorts.

also imho the ugliest uniforms are be the Sounders. brutally bad.

The white shorts, why just why? Girls can't stand them as they are always see-through so have to wear another layer under them.

So many backpacks, so glad we get a new one every two years when my kids each like the style of the first one they got the best.

Also what's up with the clubs that wear white to their away games!? I'm looking at you whatcom rangers. Just wanna flex and force the home team to change each game?

What about cleats? Some brands fit some players better than others but players basically �have to� wear the club brand, whether it be Nike, Adidas or whatever. Like the poster who complained about the crappy Nike socks. And with all their money, why can�t Nike make better socks?

Agree. Every league, and especially every tournament, should just explicitly say "Home (light); Away (Dark); " and get rid of that whole dance (or gamesmanship.)

Worst Uniforms I've seen
-Indie Chicas (Idaho) - fluorescent pink, neon color schemes
-Dallas Sting tassels on their socks

with kids in the younger ages, i wasn't aware that clubs required players wear a certain brand of cleats. At what age/club?

I was curious about that as well. We were told that any mandatory clothes requirement stopped at shoes. Practice gear was required but it was overlooked as long as it was same color and brand.

It's not required, it's socially "encouraged". 99.9% of the players and parents are unwilling to rock the boat and go with a brand other than the one they are already giving $500 to each year.
