Correct, and at least it’s not a complete $ grab like GA and ECNL.

You can play other sports, can miss training etc., actually refreshing in today’s mad youth footballing world.

That irritates a lot of people too .... When a kid decides to go to a softball or lax game rather than soccer and you have to pull in a stiff to replace them. Many, including myself, wouldn't let their kids be a part of a team like this. You are either a part of the team or you aren't and when you do what you want when you want, it affects the team. My kid chose soccer and wants teammates that want the same thing. I think most people are cool with playing other winter sports but when it comes to outdoor that is another story.

                Lol

Good idea...make your kids commit to a soccer career at U11..and god forbid they do another activity. Because everyone will cherish those memories of that one EDP game you won 3-2, but were SHORTHANDED with 12 kids for a 9v9 game.

Europa is flexible with kids. That doesn't mean kids skip for other events. That was a large leap to assume so.

News flash, kids skip for other events at all clubs. It's called being kids. Maybe if a lot of soccer clubs didn't try to control all of their players' respective time and their parents' money, these kids wouldn't be forced into so many choices.

At the older girls age groups practice at Europa can be an issue. Numbers tend to be low, which isn't good for the players that care and want to get better at soccer. We also had issues with girls not coming to games because of basketball or lax. On top of an ACL injury here or there, it can make for some difficult weekends. Europa is a good place to play if your daughter is a multi-sport athlete, but if your child is a soccer specific player, it isn't the place for you. We just stuck it out because we were there for years and because of friendships. Years back we did attend some practices at Penn Fusion and Continental FC and that was a different world. Both clubs always had 18 or more girls at practice and practice was more serious. In the end moving to one of those clubs would have been the right move for our daughter. IMO, moving from WMU to Europa would be a drop off, not an improvement. There are some very nice people at Europa and they do care about the girls.

Can assure you, Penn Fusion and FC Delco have the same issues with kids missing

                        Yes

Penn Fusion parent here...can confirm. Rarely are there practices with every player there.

I can assure you, you DON'T have players missing practice at Penn Fusion ECNL and FC Delco ECNL after U12 for AAU or high school basketball, or travel or high school lax season. This happens at Europa from the early age groups right up until the teams are finished, don't tell me it wasn't an issue and I bet it is still an issue today!

                            Buddy...

Kids miss all the time at PF and Delco, but that is what happens when you have practice 3x-4x per week for ECNL.

Europa isn't alone. Stop pretending these are hardcore academies where the kids are lockdown soccer stars who live and breathe soccer.

So what’s the big deal, like Allen Iverson said, we talking bout practice? You guys are out of your minds over youth soccer, get a life. This ECNL is what’s ruining the sport for so many kids as it’s purely a business.
