Our club isn’t really offering much for practices this winter. Maybe one practice every two weeks? The weather isn’t that cold many days of the week. Not sure why they aren’t getting them outdoors if indoor spaces are limited, Not going to mention club so this doesn’t turn into attacking one club but wondering in general if other clubs are doing something for their kids?

Nothing is stopping motivated kids from training on their own. In fact, if the older ones aren't they will be screwed when things pick up again. the last thing a coach want to see on film (if they look) is a fat out of shape kid. ....

Kids no matter the age are struggling with self motivation right now. Not for lack of love for the sport but because they are shut off from friends, distance learning etc. Soccer with teammates provides a social, emotional and physical outlet way beyond being fit.

Full steam ahead. Fitness training 1x/week. Training mid-week in intra-squad scrimmages on the weekends. It's a 10+ month endeavor.

How many times a week is training for “full steam ahead.”?
How old is your player?
I think my teen girl needs 3-4 times a week over the winter to stay fit.
Sadly her club is once a week sometimes every other week so we have to pay for extra clinics.
The coach says it’s because they can’t rent the school gyms like they used to do?
Why not go to Teamwork’s or something?

-3x through January, 4x in February
-16
-Likely, but other than the one strength/fitness time, that's handled outside the club training and is done on her own
I can see facilities/availability being an issue for many clubs this winter. Ours happens to own their own and are remaining open as long as the state allows them to.
