So, the game gets chippy and while this is crazy, it's brilliant. They dish one out, get out back (remember, 10-year olds) and every time something happens he tells his players to stay down. He walks out on the field, screams at everyone, helps his kid up, screams again, and goes back to the sideline.
In a 30-minute half I think he was out there a dozen times. No flow in the game. It's a tourney, so it's a running clock and if the kids played 15 minutes of the half I'd be surprised. They managed to keep it close, so again...brilliantly crazy.
Ran out of steam in the 2nd half but the whole experience was just shyte.

Craziest thing for sooooo many reasons... like taking away the player's ability to decide on their own, parents who think their kid's team is awesome while it's the coach who is managing the game not the players, etc. etc.

D was at a U15 showcase playing against a very strong team from CT. D's team was pretty obviously overmatched, but this didn't stop the opposing coach from yelling for his players to "crush them!" and "no mercy!" the entire game, berating his players every time they were stopped or missed a shot. They ended up winning 5-0, and they were clearly a very good team, but I remember saying to another parent from our team that there's no way I'd ever have my kid play for a coach like that. It was so Cobra Kai...

I'll never forget this...
8 or 9 years ago my U10 D was playing a tournament out at FT Devens. While waiting for the U12? boys game to finish, there was a collision between 2 players. The ref goes over to one of the boys who was still down and tries to make sure that he was OK. All of a sudden, this dumpy, heavier gentleman with thick glasses runs onto the field and tries to deliver a flying kick to the ref. Of course he misses and lands on his back. Not sure what he thought that the ref was trying to do, but as many of you know there are many police dads and FT Devens has a State Police barracks. The police dads were on the field quickly and the MA State police was also there quickly. Needless to say the gentleman was quickly arrested.

FI getting kicked out of a GU-12 NEFC SS game against Bayside last year. NEFC was pounding Bayside all game yet the refs called the game once they had enough of FI’s antics- snatching a an automatic win and giving them a loss. Game was called with 5 minutes to go with NEFC ahead.

Preach about loyalty to a club, talk down to parents who say they're leaving, yet run off to a new club as soon as they're inconvenienced slightly.

Had a U13 girl on my town team who when asked how her (regional) club team was going said "it's good ... the coach has been kicked out of two games so far" and "sometimes his (HS aged) brother fills in for him in training sessions"
