Anyone get a message for the team assignments for this years ODP? Seems there are three teams. RED, WHITE and BLUE. Are these teams put together like "A" , "B" and "C" teams, or are all there pretty much the same, skill wise?

Yet tons of players from so called great developing academies do ODP. If they are getting proper training and visibility at places like PSA, CSA, SJEB etc why do they pay extra for ODP? Makes no sense

If you paid attention to the parent meeting you would know all 3 are supposed to be even. I know a few girls in my Ds age group and they are spread out pretty well but I guess we will see.

Why do people do ODP? Same reason people do extracurriculars in HS - to pad the college application. Every knows East coast is dog doo in terms of competition. The best you can do is stand out with ODP or ID2 selection, national futsal team or something other then played for X club in X league.

I think a lot of families are under the impression that ODP is still a big deal, when it’s clearly not anymore. These teams used to be comprised of the best kids from every state. It’s clearly not anymore. The DA / ECNL kind of made it irrelevant.

Add to that, they’re now fielding 3 teams at every age group. Are other states doing this as well?

If kids are using it for extra training and games, good stuff. But it’s no longer an elite program.

I totally agree. Regardless of what some people think, it is another opportunity for extra training, games, etc. If some parents and their kids are happy with it, then so what. It's amazing how people can put down programs that kids enjoy doing because it doesn't fit in with their idea of what soccer should be. These are the same parents criticizing a group of 10 year olds as not being any good because they aren't winning all their games, or the parents that carry on with a 16-0 win.

They are fielding 3, evenly split teams in terms of talent because of covid. The thought was that they would be able to train and play each other if a lot of their out of state travel was restricted. They're trying to run a program to help the kids and parents interested in participating.

How will you have a chance to potentially play in the Olympics some day if you don’t participate?? That’s why you still see ECNL and GA kids participate. Good for them

Eastern PA has 5 teams in each age group with 16-20 kids per team. Sure they have a more spread out area but those teams aren't any better then the same ones represented in NJs ODP.

His kid plays on the MF Shore team. Everyone elses kid sucks but his. Everyother team sucks but his, everyother club sucks but his. Last I checked every single kid on his team is paying for outside training. For them, it's because the kids are so awesome and motivated. For everyone else in the world, we are a bunch of stupid suckers. This guy is such a loser. And believe or not, this ******* gets off on coming on here and posting stupid ****. I wouldn't be surprised if he texts the rest of the ******* parents and coach on his kids team everytime he does and brag how he "put everyone in our place".

Even on a holiday, this ass had to come on here and start a stupid thread. If you noticed, no one was responding to it, so he answered himself with the first post. What a dick

Not sure if this is serious or not. But ODP, despite its name, is not a path to the YNT anymore.
