That sucks for all athletes trying to get recruited. It also puts any showcases into limbo before that date.

Showcases are more important and video. This is the only means for a college a coach to see your daughter play. I feel bad for the 2021 but if you were not already on a D1 radar before Covid you are not on one now. Find the best D3 academic program and hope they are still looking. Most are done also.

1) She loves soccer
2) She doesn't love the idea of playing for her high school
3) She doesn't play it, nor I pay it, exclusively for any college opportunities

Winter is usually pretty quiet in terms of games so it's going to be lots of practicing outside maybe with local scrimmages or if travel within the NE states is allowed. Clubs need to put their egos aside and work together to get games for teams. Showcases are off for now so you've saved some money there.

So an extension to April 15th means D1 college coaches will not have met with recruits or seen them play live for more than a year?

Honestly I didn't expect this because football and basketball are the influencers with the NCAA and they're hit also. Then again, I didn't think it would happen a few weeks ago before cases started blowing up across the US. I wonder if things improve quickly they would dial it back? March?

With that said...for older kids that have pretty much developed and are looking at colleges there is no need for club soccer. One of the biggest reasons to play club at later stages (i.e. 16-19) is to get seen by coaches at showcases (Jefferson, Disney, etc) and to do the regional tournaments in the fall and spring. Without the showcases and tournaments, and with all games being cancelled in 2020 and probably spring of 2021) doing club doesn't make any sense unless you just want your kid to stay busy.
