Question - who was in ECNL first? Stars or Scorpions? If Stars, then how/why did they let Scorpions in?

I assume Bolts boys only. Girls will never get in? I don’t even understand the Bolts girls program. Aren’t they boys only. Why did I see girls teams at the Bolts Friendlies this weekend?

They only got their boys ECNL license when they merged with Scorpions, when the Scorpions and Bolts un-did the merger, they got to keep the boys ECNL license and scorpions got the girls

They have affiliates that wear Bolts Uniforms, that is where the girls teams are from
                Bolts SNE former Explosion
Bolts St Michaels former St Michaels from New Bedford
Bolts Green Lions former Green Lions from Lowell
Bolts AFC former America Football Club from Quincy

They are all standalone clubs that just pay a licensing fee to get into NEP and buy the uniforms.

For example now that scorpions is fielding boys, teams they will not be able to play in ECNL

FC Stars JD is a stakeholder and partner of the ECNL. Not a chance in hell he allows another Massachusetts based club in. He is raking in the dough for four ECNL teams per age group.

                    Highly probable.

If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you.

The only MA club that could possibly get in is NEFC. And that is still unlikely.

Not a single surf affiliate anywhere in the country has been let into ecnl. Look at Surf Idaho. Idaho needs a second club for travel purposes and they still can’t get in. Not happening.

Club with quality high-level teams at all age groups that could compete in the league right away. The other non-ECNL clubs in MA are not at the same level across the board. Not saying it will happen, but if another club gets in, that’s who it should be based on quality.

And no, I’m not an NEFC parent. My kid plays for Stars.

9 clubs in NE ECNL already, plus 9 in NA. If they go to 20 the pool of applicants will stretch from NH to MD. Could be two northern clubs with PDA White shifting south, or two southern clubs with PDA blue shifting north.

Personally I think they stand pat at 9 & 9. Bigger fish around the country will be let in first (Beach, Legends, FC Virginia, Top Hat) and then they’ll look to fill in markets that need a second club for travel purposes. Midwest for example. Commissioner already said they can’t go above 120 because of showcase limitations, and they are at 113 now.
