Bulk of Monmouth County's new covid cases are from youth sports

    https://patch.com/new-jersey/middlet...orts-labor-day

Article states that Monmouth County had 238 new cases last week, with about 50% being from people < 25 years old. The bulk of cases are being identified as having been transmitted from school sports practices, youth athletic facilities, and Labor Day parties. The Middletown Sports Complex has been specifically called out as having had 13 cases directly from youth ice hockey practices.

This isn't a shutdown scenario for all youth sports, but hopefully the results of the ECNL soccer study hold true and youth soccer stays open.

    What an amazing clickbait.

ECNL must address indoor hockey practices immediately!

It's not clickbait. The article doesn't say anything soccer specific, but it does talk about youth sports (inclusive of school sports). There's nothing actionable, but I would hope teams/clubs keep this kind of stuff in mind for their parent and player protocols.

Article headline mentions "youth sports" but the detail say "indoor hockey".

If someone started a discussion about "indoor hockey issues" at a "soccer forum" they would be ignored, no?

Definitely ignored. And who cares about the cases tell me the hospitalizations and death rates - remember the shut down was “ two weeks to flatten the curve” so that hospitals wouldn’t be over run. Well the curve is flattened and hospitalizations are almost non existent. Time to open up and “flatten the fear! “

Article states 238 new cases last week. 50% are from 25 years or younger. 13 are from middletown youth hockey. They don't state were the other 100 cases are from specifically. The OP states that pretty clearly and so does the article. I think the concern here is that something happens with soccer as that is a youth sport, right?

Love that you people are rational instead of jumping down someone's throat for reporting facts. Love the people that talk down everything covid related, and then they end up on the news because they're in the hospital crying about how they didn't think it was real. Go blow it out your butt.

No one has said anything remotely alarmist in this thread and no one has said they are hiding at home. You people need to grow the f up and understand most people aren't living inside a bubble afraid for their lives, but instead maybe doing the prudent thing and being cautious.

The lengths ppl will hold onto Corona to shut down anything and evrything.
They don't all say "shutdown", but they report "fear" and "concerns" lol.

This weekend we had an article whose headline read "positive case in [] middle school" but when you read the articl, it says that they cannot verify if a teacher, maintenence staff, student or parent was the positive case, or if they positive case was even verified and not a false positive.

Even this forum's random question is past its due date

No, you're just an idiot. No one wants things shut down, people to lose their jobs and businesses, kids to not be able to go to school, and on and on and on. Understand the difference between truth and lies and you would get that.

the article is just a vague clickbait.

even the article in NJ.com about sparta closing soccer - they had the balls to mention is was due to kids partying.

Stop answering yourself. Wait at least 30 mins to respond to your questions. Makes it less obvious.
