This is reported to be a modification to Phase 1. Kids can play contact soccer as long as they wear masks. OYSA has other rules teams must follow—no throw-ins, heading the ball, limited spectators etc. But overall good news!!

Newly minted OHA statewide guidance for specified rec. sports

Sadly, for most club recreational sports (which includes all OYSA member clubs, players & teams) school districts and cities aren't yet willing to give them (rec sports clubs) fields or adopt the latest version of OHA guidance that lets them play. Also many clubs have already cancelled their memberships fall season.

Good news for sure a step in a better direction for sure but little impact today in the tri county area since clubs don't control field access or usage guidance.

Hopefully by 2021 maybe sooner, the new guidance and field access will kick in together and there might be a chance of some type of outdoor season..

            not a solution

Don't see how masks are going to work for soccer. Maybe for low level rec, but competitive soccer where the kids are running hard.... I see problems with the kids getting the air flow they need. Not to mention the sweat, and what if it's raining? Do they pick up the soggy mask off the turf and slap it back on every time it flies off? Nice try at a solution, but like MLS is doing, let the players play while everyone else wears a mask.

MLS players are subject to regular testing.

There is no reason why these kids shouldn’t be playing. Absolutely no reason!

Not to mention globally, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that the flu kills 290,000 to 650,000 people per year.

Maybe it's time to ban driving cars in the world since approximately 1.35 million people die in road crashes each year, on average 3,700 people lose their lives every day on the roads.

Then the gran-daddy of them all according to estimates from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), in 2018 there were 17.0 million new cancer cases and 9.5 million cancer deaths worldwide.

                          Lock-down Lunacy 2020.

2019-2020 flu season. CDC estimates 32,000-36,000 deaths in the United States. Covid deaths in the United States over 6 months...200,000. I know loud mouths like you hate to do (or acknowledge) math, but by all means please do the math. Also, Cars and Cancer are not contagious.

You are an f ing idiot and exactly why this has spread and is not getting any better. Death, blood clots, long term vascular and respiratory problems are good enough reason for me....
