Our small town has/is forming teams for youth rec/travel leagues, apparently enough families have signed up. Our players age group may not have the numbers to form a full team for travel, 11v11, although they have started practices/scrimmages last week. Rumor is practice/scrimmages may be our only option with everything going on, although there is talk as well of inter town scrimmages. Helpful since school soccer is canceled/rescheduled. Our player is active in club, so not too big of a deal for us. Any feedback on what other towns are planning for fall soccer? Any confirmed activity?

Awesome! Lucky you, hopefully other towns/leagues follow suit. Again, especially because of the absence of school soccer. It would be great if towns communicate & organize more actual seasons other than just scrimmages/practices

Many towns choosing to remain in-town.
Why not set up small sided games (4 v 4 or 5 v 5)? Great way to get kids’ more touches and play competitively.

Our player joined her town team for a intertown scrimmage recently. Ref @game told me that there have been town games in Easton. We got word that our player may be attending such event. Anyone have any info regarding? Might this just be a pickup game scenario?

Easton travel teams have played some organized travel games with referees against other town teams, home and away. All games are subject to Mass Youth Soccer requirements. There are no pick up soccer games in Easton.

The league refs for our players team haven't been too restrictive. Enforcing throw in/corner kick rules & light on the shoulder to shoulder. Imo refs doing a good job letting them play. Aggressive shoulder to shoulder seems to be called.

I'm hoping the thrown ins rule gets reset, but with the COVID upswing it may not happen and may not matter. Not a big deal though.
