    Susc dpl

Does anyone have a daughter playing DPL that has heard anything at all about the upcoming season?? This is our first year at SUSC from another club in NEP and I just keep getting told "we don't know". Are they playing? When? Where? Etc?? Town season starts next week and now I read games for DPL might be Saturday....no one told us that! We thought Sunday like NEP. Ready to just ask for a refund but know that's going to be a battle. My D just wants to play.

There will be no refunds from any clubs this season if you play or not. It’s in everyone’s contract

Interesting business model. Told us we were playing DPL but no league now apparently. No refund. Wonder how many people will come back next year. We sure won't. Fool me once....

Seacoast has pay by month options this season so that no ones pays too far ahead in a season full of unknowns that are out of the clubs control.

Hey dopey, every club is in the same boat. Do you really think Seacoast is trying to rip off young kids.

Hey grumpy....I have no idea if Seacoast is trying to rip off kids. All I know is we could have played in NEP and had games scheduled but instead they put us in this half baked (and that's being generous) league, now tell us there is no schedule and no further information, and won't offer a refund if we don't play. Meanwhile the teams below ours and above ours have games to play and they're happy while DPL is just hung out to dry.

Some of you need to learn to look at a situation objectively and stop drinking the club kool aid. Taking money and not providing what you paid for is not okay.

Agreed. But keep in mind that Seacoast is in a similar boat to you in regards to DPL. DPL has been around for a few years and advertised that all was moving forward this fall. Seacoast is likely just as frustrated as you are with DPL. No company likes to be in the situation they are in where they have to disappoint their client because someone else failed them. That being said, Seacoast owes their clients a league, and they need to step up and do the right thing at this point.

PS Im not clear with the insulting protocols. Is this where I should add in something like Dopey or Grumpy to make my point mean more? Should I stick with the dwarf theme?

Once upon a time the NH board was a lot more pleasant. The onset of GDA created some trolling and it's been a trip ever since.

Lol....sorry. just when I got called Dopey my inner 12 year old came back with grumpy.

And thank you for understanding. I would be completely fine if Seacoast communicated with us to say hey, we don't know what's going on either but we found a league for you. Its the lack of communication and the no refund clause getting me. I expect no refunds if the virus causes the state to shut down soccer again. That's beyond their control. But when 2 other teams at our age group are playing in 2 other leagues, it's not ok with me.

First of all, I would not put too much into any posted schedules at the moment. For example, NEP has many games scheduled in RI for September but RI to remain in Phase 3 until end of Sep which means no games. This issue impacts DPL as well as well as the modified playing rules in MA (if you have not seen them take a look). As of now it looks like DPL could only schedule real soccer in NH. Perhaps it does come to that. but I suspect the league would want to avoid that. Hence waiting to see where each of the different states are headed. Also, I agree this is not limited to Seacoast only. Seacoast along with other clubs did what was in the best interest of the players. The best competition in MA / RI/ NH / ME outside of ECNL and GAL would be in the DPL. I suspect that we will hear something one way or another week after labor day.

                        League initials don’t matter

I think this is a great lesson that overall there is just too much emphasis on league initials. The reality is our kids want to compete and play soccer. They don’t care who they play. Imagine if, rather than always thinking that the competition is better elsewhere, all our players played locally in the club network. We’d have better competition, more reasonable game travel schedules. Save the 7-10 hour drives for a soccer game for the college teams.

I don't believe that is true. The MA board has a long current thread about not having a DPL schedule yet, and I don't think the Seacoast MA teams play DPL.

I wholeheartedly agree. I don't care what league my daughter plays in and she certainly doesn't. Maybe it matters for the top teams but for B level and below, I think they just want to play. Mine asked me today if it's too late to register for our town program because she just wants to play. It's been almost a year since they've been outside playing and DPL means nada.

Really? Like who? Wonder why all the similar complaining on the MA board.
