    RCL divisions and schedules?

With RCL theoretically starting in a few weeks, does anyone know when divisions and schedules will be posted?

Our G05 and B07 kids are dying to see what this will look like.

No communication to RCL teams, no communication to EPD. What exactly has WYS been doing for 5 months?

        Umm.... stealing our money?

And they’re hoping we’re too busy homeschooling our kids and trying to work at the same time to notice that they have stolen our money for services not provided.

And there are some clubs with full time fully paid coaches who are providing “practice”... but it’s much shorter hours and they have cut back on the number of practices, too. So, they’re working a lot less, not having to coach games, and getting paid the same.

Meanwhile, how many of us parents in the real world are getting paid less (often to do more) or have lost our Jobs entirely?

So tone deaf. Such a scam.

You are at the wrong club then. You do understand that most of the coaches are having to coach at least twice to coach a single team once don't you?
As for RCL etc, what would you propose they do? I'll wait. You'd like them to release a schedule when they have no idea when we will be able to play.
We are all making sacrifices right now, our soccer community obviously is as well. I hate to be the voice of reason, I am as pissed as anyone, but I am not sure what more the clubs can do.

Is youth baseball subject to different rules than youth soccer? Baseball games are being played.

Yes, Washington youth soccer has many rules... and baseball doesnt have as many governing bodies...

yeah not sure what club you are with, my coach is working his ass off to provide 3 sessions week to each team. He has to divide each team in to 2 groups so he's holding twice as many practice sessions for the same amount of pay. He's also got to deal with a High School age team that normally wouldn't be training with him right now.

XF has only charged for 2 months right now, first month when we registered in May and I think mid august was the first charge since then.

What is the point of RCL releasing divisions and schedules that aren't going to happen. Better to wait until we are actually close to getting to play. Then we'll have the issue of the complete **** show east of the mountains where they have 500+ cases per100k in some counties. So we'll have some teams in the league unable to play yet. My guess is it's going to be local scrimmages until all teams in the league make it to phase 3.

Ahh, I am pretty sure you can cancel this contract. I recall the Wa AG saying something
about gyms can't keep on charging or enforce contracts and must allow folks to cancel them. I am pretty sure that this will apply to soccer clubs. Good time to get out if this is a financial burden for you and your family. Go find it on the AG website.

Or is this just venting steam that you got reduction in salary or unemployed?
But your kid really wants to keep on playing? Quitting is easy, living is hard.

I don't blame you for complaining. Each club is charging what they think you'll pay ..er uhm what is "fair" while we wait for this pandemic to end. Some are charging full price, others have paused dues. I just leave the wallet open because I can afford it and feel it's worth it for my kid to see her teammates and have some resemblance of a normal summer.

I know man, it's less than ideal for all of us, especially if your budget is strained. I feel for the restaurant owners and other industries hit hard.

There's light at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there.

I have heard from two RCL coaches that schedules have been created with an assumed 9/26 start, which is based on infection projections for getting to Phase 3 by 9/19 and WYS negotiations with Inslee's office that would allow soccer games in phase 3. I would expect no spectator rule to avoid groupings of people. This just contingency planning. I would not count on any of this BTW.

Soccer games are already allowed in Phase 3. The question is whether areas begin to move to Phase 3. Those numbers don’t look terribly promising. PSPL is also trying to start on 26 Sep from what I understand.

                          None

Zero new cases reported in Seattle today.

Seems about right. Case counts statewide and in King County have dropped by about 50% over the past three weeks. If that continues, and if there continue to be few if any issues with soccer in the many places already playing, starting up games by late Sept would make a lot of sense.

I agree with your assessment that numbers have dropped almost everywhere with the exception of more rural counties, especially Whitman with WSU students returning to campus and partying. Looking at the curves, cases, hospitalizations, and deaths have all significantly decreased. I get worried when I hear the governors office or DOH now using terms like “started to plateau” and now the goal for R0 is “well below 1.” Seems like they may be moving the goalposts on us. Was just looking at the statewide numbers yesterday, people over age 80 account for 5% of COVID cases, but 50% of the deaths. In some areas, almost 50% of cases can be attributed to outbreaks at long term care facilities. I know the San Diego Surf “study” was small and obviously comes from a biased source, but I’m not aware of a significant amount of cases being traced back to youth sports, specifically outdoor sports. I’m not saying elderly don’t matter, but rather maybe some populations and activities require more protection and restrictions and some dont. We’ve been on this across the board “phase pause” for over 2 months now. Without even debating whether or not it was the correct decision at the time, current data no longer supports that method at this time.
