What are you talking about? If the state rules won’t allow them to have the tournament Stars won’t have it. Honestly, some of the Covid posters on here are brain dead.

Umm. The rules don't allow it.. And yet they haven't cancelled. The rules aren't going to get less restrictive until there's a vaccine after xmas.. So all those dumb teams signed up will be stuck with no games that weekend when they cancel the day before.

Hey dumb dumb. You know it’s not a tournament any more. Just organized scrimmages which are allowed. No finals so it’s not a tournament.

Each team to play only 1 game per day with 20 minutes between games on the same field. Will never have tournament size gatherings. It does suck to have to drive to Lancaster 3 days in a row, from RI no less..hopefully.

I think other posters have adequately slapped you around but I’ll just add how ridiculous it is to suggest we should all just assume we are screwed until we have a vaccine and hide in our houses until then or to assume the rules won’t change when they’ve changed numerous times in the last few months. I’d also point out just how stupid the “downside” is that you reference. Teams may have games cancelled on short notice? That’s what you are worried about? Oh, the horror!

OK, the OP is being a bit of a jerk, but the truth is that regardless of FC Stars effort's to disguise the event as NOT a tournament, they are still trying to put together a tournament as defined by law:

                      Quote:
"A “Tournament” is defined by the Commonwealth as a formal contest that consists of multiple games between multiple persons or teams, that might include multiple stages, played in a condensed period of time, such as over the course of a single day or multiple days in a row."

Key words: "OR multiple days in a row".

So a team playing a game on Friday, then coming back to play another game on Saturday and another on Sunday... that's a tournament!

And it is very clear that Phase III Step 1 does NOT allow Tournaments.

Again, quote "No tournaments may be held during the duration of Phase III, Step 1."

So, for the sake of our kids, can we just do away with any idea of having a tournament? Please? Is it really that critical to have a tournament and risk getting soccer entirely shut down by Charlie Baker & Co.?

I know it sucks, believe me I feel it, but let's be grateful for what we have right now and no risk losing it. Please!

Did you complain about the lacrosse tournament in devens the other weekend. Or the softball tournaments that go on. Everyone knows the risk. It is so low it is ridiculous. Don’t let the news fool you. I see nothing wrong with it. Professional sports with fans, that’s an issue. Not kids playing a modified tournament.

I don't care about softball or lacrosse or any other sport... SOCCER, that's all I care about. Sorry if that makes me a bit ignorant and selfish, but I'm just being honest.

And by the way, I was not complaining, I was just stating the facts... and the fact is that tournaments are not allowed and what the FC Stars are trying to put together is indeed a tournament as defined by law. FC Stars is an amazing club, all respect to them... but they are just not seeing this through for the sake of their own players and our soccer community at large.

Ok Soccer Karen. What’s next? Call 911?
Has anyone been to FK Taunton lately? It’s been packed with teams practicing and scrimmaging for weeks. It’s my understanding that no one has gotten sick.

If you’re concerned about your health and well-being, don’t go. Better yet, drop your kid at the side gate and come back in an hour. The fewer people there, the better.
