    Once upon a time in MAPLE

    There was peace (or maybe piece of mind), tranquility (well no Covid anyway) and the soccer world was in balance (like the force) but then came the DOC needing to knead the golden geese (who were and still are many) flocking ever willingly to slaughter. They created league upon league upon league and built mighty evil empires!

    Ah - and then came the correction - Covid 19 - to prove how utterly ( isn’t there a fairytale with a cow in it too?) Ludicrous the chase was and the jobless masses scratched their heads and thought ‘maybe soccer is a little bit more’ and the level of play came all the same without ribbons, plane tickets and bags...

    Sigh... just sayin’

        I read this as once upon a time select was king of maple and things were great. Then came Covid-which stands for DA came- and once covid hit, DA disappeared leaving NEFC and select in a world of mess like the world is in today. In a weird way it seems like this poster is comparing covid with the demise of DA.

            I don’t get the persons statement dealing with MAPLE.
            I’ll try to reply about the topic.
            It is funny how people tonight maple was bad and out of date where it focused to much on winning.
            Now a bunch of years later clubs/parents are promoting a league that has promotion/relegation. I think maple was the big clubs enemy just for the fact that once you get a certain age if your teams weren’t good enough they got pushed down to masc. In a way it was limiting the amount of teams clubs could have. Now leagues will take every team so clubs can now make as many teams as possible.

                  Is it a coincidence? LL was on the Maple Board when the league collapsed. Now she’s leading the collapse of the NEP and maybe even the DPL, before it’s even started.

                  Being a bully and control freak will surely catch up to her soon? Except, she is a woman, how could we possibly question her motives?
