    + Covid - Club Soccer

Big news: club kid tested positive and team is quarantining. We are members of the club (different age group) so won’t post the name here to protect it.

    First if many to come.

Club is keeping to quiet so they do t get in trouble and other teams will still want to playa gains to them.

If Gov had any sense, she would shut down this gong show of youth sports before someone gets seriously ill.

Why do we HAVE to pant youth sports at all costs??

I think it's a choice and you should choose your path right now. Let your kid stay home (others on my club team have - decision is respected and understandable). You are the parent - not Gina. God bless our kids and pray they make it through this with health and sanity. No good answers...

I don’t believe this poster. Nope. This is an anti club person trying to stir the crap.
However...There will be positive cases in schools and sports as we navigate this. We are all going into the fall taking chances we are comfortable with. I bet the kid who is positive is doing well as most kids do. I bet it didn’t spread like wild fire either. We will be dealing with COVID everyday so stay home or go out wear your mask it’s up to each family.

Obviously they have to keep it quiet as you will see schools will do the same. They can o it report so much due to minor privacy laws. Clubs can’t reveal the gender, age, name, address etc. all they can say is which team to the parents and take a two week break allowing families who choose to test themselves to do so. Btw testing is never required you can’t force anyone to test. They can quarantine two weeks and or test. Don’t ever feel forced to be tested those tests are horrible.

I, literally, just had a test. Going to MA for a preplanned long weekend (before we got banned!). I am asymptomatic. It wasn't awful at all. It took 1-2 seconds and didn't hurt. Made my eyes water a bit but horrible isn't a word I would use to describe Covid testing.

I would rather quarantine for life than ever take that test again.

Just heard from our NEFC club coach in MA that RI players can now train in MA? Is this true? I am not sure I feel comfortable going without seeing it in writing from the state. I don't want to get fined. Can anyone show me a link? Club coach did not provide the link.

We're done for as a free society if it's come to this.

It is not true. Recreational activities are not exempt.
