    Stars cup adding age groups

The fall could be even more interesting now. Wonder if nefc And SSS will show up? Assuming you are getting local games only, could be a look at what ECNL, or any reasonable league, could look like

Being that this tournament is supposed to be in Lancaster, which is in MA, which has a 99.4298% chance of going backward on the "phases" scale instead of forward my bet is this thing one doesn't get off the ground.

If it does the modifications look interesting. Not ideal for those that don't live near the venue but not completely unreasonable I guess
        1. We will only be accepting teams from ‘low risk’ states – Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont
        2. Teams will play one game per day/per location (removing the need for participants and parents to remain on-site after a game) – teams should plan to play Friday (afternoon/evening), Saturday (during the day) and Sunday (morning/early afternoon)
        3. There will be a minimum of 20 minutes gap between a game ending and the next one kicking off on each field – to ensure minimal contact between teams
        4. There will be no finals/playoffs – each team will play the 3 games guaranteed in a Round Robin format

It could happen, but not in a traditional form. Out of state teams would be limited concentrating on more local clubs competing. What makes you think NEFC or SSS want in?

I think sss will be playing in the very tough GPS tournament again with a bunch of town teams. Go sss!!

Hahaha what makes you think.... Stars is a huge fall tournament for clubs.

"What makes you think they want in" is about ECNL, not the fall tournament. That's how I read it anyway (not the OP).

I agree with you about it was about the ECNL. Both teams would give an arm and a leg to be in the ECNL this year. Much more prestigious than the DA- i mean GAL/DPL.

OK, I'll bite: 99.4298% is a very specific number. Please share your analytical insight and let us know how you determined MA is more than 99% probably to go backwards in either Steps or Phases

Stars posted update about tournament. Only teams from low risk states allowed to compete and each team is guaranteed 1 game per day (3 total). No playoff or final.

Not a great format but better than no games. It would be nice to stay local, one game a day, measure yourself against local good local competition, or even Stars white teams.

Stars ECNL tuition is lower than NEFC DPL and GA and significantly lower than SSS. With the credit from the spring, it’s about $2100 for this year. Would love to hear which MA clubs are significantly cheaper.

And with the way things are going that will be $2100 you threw out the window! No way will ECNL soccer be worth the price. For this soccer season there will be no such thing as a national league. Everything will be strictly local and maybe by the spring a little bit regional - if we get lucky - you will see. Things are reverting to how they used to be before all these crazy national leagues appeared, localized soccer!

And that doesn’t even take into account the fact that the college scholarships are drying up faster than the Sahara. ECNL hangs its hat on the pathway/scholarships to college soccer - what happens when there are no more college athletic scholarships or even teams for that matter? Seems far fetched but it wouldn’t be surprising- colleges are in a world of hurt financially and eventually will be forced to make budget cuts.

Huh? Some of these posters on ts. Haha compared to GAL/DPL ECNL is literally much cheaper. Sounds like an angry dad who’s little daughter didn't make an ECNL team. Daddy... enjoy the GAL/DPL league.
