    No balls!

That should be the motto of the NJSIAA!

Daughter went to first HS “captain’s” practice. Not only no scrimmages, NO BALLS on the field at all for 2 weeks! Meanwhile, next door baseball teams playing in Last Dance tournament for seniors who missed final spring. But NO BALLS in soccer.

Meanwhile, two weeks ago visiting in Connecticut, HS teams already started captains’ practices. Daughter was working out on localHS field, team saw her, asked if she wanted to join. Played a full scrimmage at CT captain’s practice, but NO BALLS in NJ. You’re telling me.

Fortunately, her club team already scoping out tournaments now that HS receding. Starting off with five asides to limber up, looking for something big on Labor Day.

    Message is, F*@k HS!

You’re telling me. HS, already increasingly marginalized for kids at decent clubs, now going to become an afterthought after a cancelled season as the cover-your-ass NJSIAA buries HS soccer. On the tombstone it will read NO BALLs!

And for those of you quaking at the thought of your kids do something like playing outdoors instead of cowering in the basement, it’s simple: KEEP YOUR NO BALLS kids at home!

Don't blame njsiaa. Blame Mr. Beautiful in the capital. If he had a plan, surely we have almost been done with this by now but nope.

You realize schools don't want a lawsuit, right?

I thought NJ club teams were currently allowed to scrimmage, etc. My kid plays on a MA ECNL team and our state is not allowing contact/scrimmages and we’ve all been discussing how our restrictions are worse than CT, NY, RI, NH, NJ... Is this just a high school thing in NJ, or are we misinformed?

Murphy owns Sky Blue. They have been playing full games for a couple of weeks already.

Just go to club practice in the fall. Forget HS. Hopefully club will have something for HS players. For an additional fee of course.

My daughter has been going to captains practices for the last two weeks. With balls. And with scrimmages.

Have to play HS. Clubs shut down in fall for HS. No choice.

Could play field hockey I guess...

Welcome to HS soccer. Where the physical part of the game is king and rest is just a bonus.

This was either done by your schools captain, or coach. The rest of NJ is playing with a ball and has been for weeks.

Exactly what was said above. The problem is with your hs coach or captains. Go complain to them.

HS soccer is just aimless running. An average soccer player touches the ball 16 times during the game. Why would you care to practice with the ball when the games is about running a Brownian Motion simulation for 90 minutes.

I get the sarcasm but Brownian motion would be random whereas the soccer movement should be purposeful. Haha
