Had a coach admit to me off the record that the only reason they held tryouts was collect funds to pay the coaches for next season. That its widely know that there will be limited organized competition until atleast 2021.

I heard the same thing. I have a friend that works for the state. Rumors have all unnecessary events will be shut down if cases of covid continues to rise. Youth soccer is consider an unnecessary event.

The "sanctioned" (Insured) schedule sure looks empty? Historically events would be here 6-12 months in advance....
Doesn't mean that clubs are planning them... Just that FYSA isnt onboard at this time.

seasons will be played. when will you all understand. this wont stop, sitting at home or not, until it plays out. multiple treatments are available. life, especially outdoor life, has to go on. if not, you will start to see suicide rates and depression rates skyrocket before long.
BTW, no coach told you that they had tryouts just to collect fees for next year, don't be stupid.

you all do realize that this has only been going on (lockdowns) since March right? 3.5 months. and in that time things have changed day to day, week to week. in a third of that time, one month, who knows how things will look.
you are the same ones that will complain how unorganized it would look if everyone waited until the last minute to start planning teams and seasons.

Just got off the phone with a friend who works for FYSA. This individual said they were guaranteed by Tallahassee that the season will move forward. US Club Soccer was given the same guarantee. See you at the fields.

You cant pay a deposit on an airline ticket to anywhere for Sept, because the flight MIGHT not be able to go based on factors today?? Really?? You all live in some selfish fantasy land and have no idea how things work.

Youth soccer can not be cancel and credit is not given. You cannot compare youth soccer to renting a car. Families pay to play and train with a coach on a field. If for any reason this does not happen a prorated refund should be given. The club should explain to their members that soccer could get shut down halfway through the season. If this happens we will not refund your money. As an alternative service we will provide you with online training sessions. This would be the right thing to do.
