    Pateadores Is Out Of Control

Even though King County is in phase 2, this Club is running team training sessions with 10+ players at a time and advertising it on social media. They are also running something called “academy” sessions that also puts way too many players on a field at this point. Anyone here belong to this club and want to comment? It’s a Bellevue-based club. This appears to be highly irresponsible conduct by a youth club. L&I is already shutting down and fining businesses that are not following the rules. https://www.insurancejournal.com/new.../01/574114.htm

Agreed! These Jack-holes need to be reported to King County. Who is the DOC or board president at this club? Actually, I’d never heard of this club before. How long have they been around?

Have you gone and watched. I bet they are still maintaining social distance. We are practing with at least that many but maintaining distance, mostly just ball skills.

Pateadores is a franchise-type club, like GPS, Rush or Surf. The parent club is based in California. They opened up here a couple of years ago and appear to be the next incarnation of FC Bellevue or Heron Athletic FC. Carpetbaggers is the term I believe is most appropriate. Wonder what the franchise fee back to the Pateadores mother ship in California might be?

Isn’t the issue that training in groups of more than 5 including the Coach is prohibited? 1 coach and 10 or 11 players is a no-no. Or is there a different rule for soccer?

My kid has been training with 12-13 teammates the entire time. Captains running trainings. None of the parents are concerned.

I’m just one person but all the 15 or so people that I know that got covid19, none had any complications. The worst one said she was flu like sick for 2 days and then had a cough for a month.

I’m not scared and think it’s time to get on with life.

I realize a lot of you are scared. That’s ok. Just stay home and use a mask when you have to venture out. This virus is not going away soon so plan to stay home for a long long time.

Luckily for the rest of us, there are few in this city that think (if you want to call it that) like you do. Those cities are called Houston and Phoenix. You selfishly benefit from the sacrifice of the rest of us. Your penance should be volunteering for a few weeks in the ERs in both of those cities. Your blissful ignorance endangers us all.

There will be another virus next year. And the year after.

There have been a flu every year forever.

Uneducated and inappropriately confident. Too much of that these days. We all pay the price for this and are witness to a horrifying tragedy.

Is your kid with Pateadores? My kid is and went to a training. I thought it would be 3 or 4 kids. Turns out it was 12 or more kids and training was led by a new coach. I don’t know his name. He is Asian American. This sort of thing seems extremely reckless and unsafe to me. Had I known They would be doing this I would not have allowed my kid to go. Anyone know how one files a complaint with the Department of Health or King County?

                          Yes!

We need to shut all sports down for 24 months. Otherwise hundreds of thousands of kids will get the virus and spread it to their grandparents. We don't need sports. It is a luxury.

In person schooling is off the table as well. No way we can let kids go back to school. We can do it all by Zoom and Google Meet.

We need to move to a contactless society.

Never forget -- the people telling us that we just have to "learn to live with" Covid and refusing to wear masks (to protect our community as a whole)? These are the same people that tell us not to "politicize" school shootings, and that the deaths of countless children are simply the price we as a society have to pay for their unfettered "right" to own military-grade weaponry.

                              Selfish, vile scum.
