Well, I went ahead and registered my kid for club soccer with a few hundred dollar deposit and monthly payments. Team is slated to start training next week (to be announced). What is everyone thinking? Will we end up playing soccer, or did I just gift money to the club again?

Hey as long as you start training next week... what does it matter when you play again. You will play. Trust that. For now just be grateful your club is training this summer. All the Best!

Teams are practicing. No games yet. Fall is very much TBD, school and club. Wear your masks people. Help keep MA trending downwards.

Word is MIAA wants HS sports, but it may be just Varsity. MYS has already said they plan on playing District Select and NEP is taking team registrations for the Fall. We'll be playing soccer.

Is MIAA paying for the sports at these high schools with crippled budgets?

2 things: First, screw off. This right here is why there will be no more shutdowns, no more belief in masks/social distancing/etc. because you idiots keep changing the narrative. Second, not my problem. Maybe it's time to fire the six figure administrators and the hordes of teachers aides and assistants mandated by the State. This virus and the shutdown has brought many down to reality and show what's important. Colleges will change and many won't survive this. Time for local schools to do the same.
FWIW, the above was mostly a rant, my kids go to private school and play mostly privates or big publics. If the administration came out and said they needed to charge an extra fee for the additional PPE/Buses/etc, everyone would pony up, because we all know that sports are important to raising well-adjusted young people

So if you're in a club because your kid likes the kids on their team, wants the exercise, and likes soccer - it's something.
And for those who are in a club just to push your kid up the pyramid - yeah, don't sign up. This year, or ever.

It's a hard life, the sooner the kids learn that, the better. ;-)
