Diversity and Equity in Oregon Soccer

Many clubs came out in the last month and said they stand for equity and diversity! Which is great - but what are they doing to do that? Are they working to lower their fees so all can participate? Are they ensuring they bring in a more diverse coaching staff? How are they working to improve?

    Which Clubs do the best?

Diversity in funding unemployed millennials it's been a dedicated cause for nearly a decade.

They really can't improve much since it's beyond generous and unmatched nationwide, even ramped up during the pandemic.

CARES act doesn't approach the dollars handed out by our local welfare clubs.

As long as the only two options are pay-to-play where parents are on the hook for expensive soccer programs, and rec where the quality of play and coaching is really bad, there will be no equity in soccer in the US.

Every club that we have been part of gives players the opporunity to apply for scholarships. Few actually take advantage of it or don't want to complete the entire process.

How do you know for a fact that "few actually take advantage?" My club gives every scholarship dollar away that's in their budget, every year.
