I think the bigger question will be if they have enough teams.

Really? Looking at the Central Premiership division my kid was going to play in for spring, the only teams that are still in NEP are two NEFC teams, and maybe an Abbey Villa team. CFC North, NEFC SE (now RI Surf), WUP all now EDP, and the GPS teams are obviously gone.

Abbey Villa just hired 6-7 new coaches.

Our son plays in the South Division Premiership and he is on one of 2 teams left. In the top bracket, across 3 divisions there was 23 teams, now they are down to 12 teams left, almost half left .. WOW

Take a look at the NPL, which is even more watered down. With the loss of almost all GPS NPL teams, who typically finish at or near the top, why even have NPL anymore?

                        Exactly, why bother?

Just because GPS evaporated doesn't mean the players did. They all have to go somewhere. Unless everyone of them moves to a club in EDP, the clubs with teams in NPL will be picking up some good players, either strengthening their current NPL team or even creating enough depth for a second NPL team.

We will all see how much the landscape has changed when the fall rolls around. NEP is no longer what it once was.

Juventes and surf took all top GPS teams. Many players also went to Seacoast and Bolts. Seacoast is in EDP. Seacoast also took Many if not all FCUSA NPL teams to the EDP. Also a lot of Valeo players have joined Surf and Seacoast.
