    Seacoast Offers?

I know I'll get some rude replies but I've got my thick skin on today.

With all that's going on, has anyone received early offers? Usually have one by now. Have nothing yet. Trying to figure out if it's because we're not back on the field yet or because we're not getting one.

No delusions here. My kids a bubble player. Was considering a move for next season but haven't been able to see other teams obviously. Was planning to move to a club where top team is a lower level than our top team to see if a step down is a better fit. Never got to check them out and now concerned about next year with no offer. Just wondering if anyone knows where things stand.

I'll get wacked for this response as well. GPS NH has told players that they all have offers to stay on the same team for fall.

Some have had offers. Do you have a boy or girl?

I believe they are going to forego official tryouts and bring in all the same age groups through the summer and ensure the talent is best allocated. Some who possibly didn't try for a top team due to HS, now may want to be considered. I'm speaking from the girls' side, not sure if it's the same on the boys.

But, yes, we have received our official offer for next year.

Thank you. I also have a girl and already had an offer this time last year.

I suppose there's nothing to do but keep showing up and see where she lands. Probably isn't the best time for a change anyway.

I am impressed at the civility in these replies with both Seacoast and GPS being mentioned. If this were to continue we may actually have decent discussions on this board.

Doesn't matter if you don't like any of the clubs in the thread, let's continue to not be juvenile!

I would suggest contacting IS or CS. I can only vouch for my daughter's communication/offer and not sure what their plan is for all. They have mentioned integrating the training (when possible) into the entire age group through the summer vs. having official offers out in April/May as in years' past.

But, if you connect with either of them I'm sure they will give you the detail you need.

Girls already have and know where they'll be playing.

Amusing though how much they did everything possible to not refund money. "Practice" starts soon with the new regs to finish up this season.

The "new" contract states no refunds will be given under any circumstances for the upcoming season. We haven't signed on (not yet anyways)

It's tough because there are not many alternatives in NH MA border. Even if your kid played DA/NPL, there's no where to really go (logistics wise). ENCL doesn't have a lot of teams, and there's only a couple girls (2003's) that might have a chance of making the FC Stars teams in Lancaster, but those teams are pretty much set. EVERYONE will be vying for what? 1 or 2 slots that might make that drive?

There is at least one 2004 who turned down a Stars ECNL offer, and 2 '05s (and they aren't their best players). I know of an '06 who was considering an offer as well.

The drive doesn't work for most Seacoast families so they make it work with what they have.

Refunds will be finalized when rosters are finalized. A communication to IS will help clear up any questions you have on that.

Not Stars Blue for sure but the 04 Stars white team is strong as well.

05's were not ECNLR and I don't believe the 04 was (it was before ECNLR existed), I believe the 06 wasn't either. The 06's also had some (I don't know how many) who came from Stars and while I was told they came from the ECNL team, I don't know if it was one of the ECNLR teams. I got the impression it wasn't an ECNLR team, but honestly didn't ask.

There's probably 3-4 players (position dependent) who could play on Stars White 05's; I don't see any of them making Stars Blue. Maybe, and it's a big maybe, one.

I have no idea if there are others, but as mentioned, getting to Lancaster for most of the Seacoast players is impossible. However, in the past 2 years they drew more from Boston-North instead of just NH/Maine, so those players may have it easier should the opportunity present itself.

So these are not offers that were made to these kids for next season, then?

Oh, no, apologies for the confusion. These were players who were offered within the last 2 years and declined. I was referring to this post:

indicating that in the past, Seacoast GDA players HAVE been offered positions on Stars' ECNL teams. No idea if any tried this year, only speaking from history. The bottomline is there are players on GDA teams who, according to ECNL clubs (via an offer) can play on their teams beyond the 2003's referenced.

The 2-3 03's Girls DA I know were looking elsewhere for upcoming season (parents were very disappointed as well), but that was before the soccer blowup.

One of them hand-downs could play anywhere, but again, they would have an extremely long drive. I enjoyed watching her play/practice, my daughter would joke about just how ridiculous (in good way) she made some look out there. Speed, skill, and VISION, that kid should have some great options after this year.

Meanwhile, the majority of us are going to just going to have to hope they have fun out there. TINA
