    2008 Girls

Has there been much movement with this age group? My daughter would like to switch but has been tough with covid and not being able to try other clubs.

      2 words: Field Hockey.

If shes a 2008 and she isn’t already committed or getting call ups to YNT camps... its too late

Not true. My daughter was a late bloomer. NEP Champions level in 6th/7th grade ages.
Going to be a senior playing GA level but being recruited by an ECNL program and colleges. It's tough but of the biggies FCStars, Scorpions, NEFC seem to be most stable clubs where growth paths actually work compared to some others & then you want to steer clear of Steel/FCUSA, Seacoast and GPS. South Shore Select has a lot of detractors and I'm not sold on their path to the highest levels unless you're with them from 4th grade on.

            08 Girls

I know there's a bit of sarcasm in the thread but the 08 Girls landscape is of particular interest to us so there's no sarcasm here. I can tell you that NEFC's top 08 team was a powerhouse. Prior to them entering the DA this past season our club battled them in several in session and tournament games in years past, so I can appreciate the talent that group had. We played them so often that there was even cross club comradery among parents on the sideline. With the fall of DA, I'm very interested to see where these girls ended up or if they stayed together? There's a lot of talent in this age group across several clubs. I'm eager to see these girls, my daughter among them, back out there playing for whatever teams, and in whatever leagues they have matriculated towards.

Another year, another thread of ulittle dads who have no clue what's in front of them. Spend some time on the 07' thread dads. Do be those dads. Let your child's skill and inner drive dictate her path, not you. Many won't even be playing in HS, let alone getting great packages to top programs.

This is how it starts - a few innocent posts and then before you know it you're 500 pages into a cesspool labeled 200X but you can't get out because every 50th post says something reasonable and you feel obligated to say: "^^^True this" in defense of all that is good and right in the soccer world.

That’s why you don’t see active threads for 2003, 2004, etc....reality sets in.

                        Keyboard heroes

I'm not bothered by the comments from the keyboard heroes who are pretending to be subject matter experts here at TS. If I have something worthwhile to add, I'll post. If "my little Mia" hangs up the cleats tomorrow, I'll stand beside her. I also couldn't tell you what their record was in the fall because all I care about is development. This progressive approach doesn't fill the narrative of these keyboard heroes though, and they'll make their comments about what a bad dad I am. I hope they continue to enlighten me on what talent looks like. If "powerhouse" is too exaggerated of a word, please continue to educate me with your vast knowledge. While Mia is out there having fun though, I'll enjoy watching her play reardless of her age. One more thing, the 07 thread is that way because of the parents. We 08 folks by and large have seen how our predecessors behave on the sideline and are choosing a different path, a less righteous path. Maybe some of these TS keyboard heroes could make the same choice and quit regurgitating the same drivel to bring down every thread to their lonely level. Are your lives that pitiful that you feel it necessary to bring every thread down to a negative level? The post after this one will likely answer that question.

                            F that. Make Lists.

Starting at u12 you get 3 years full of hope and joy.
The girls can now play and club/league affiliation is relatively meaningless. camaraderie and 2-3 impact players make the difference. By u15 much will change and consolidation into the power league/club of the time will happen. For now no one knows so have some
