    Dear MIAA Game Official,

This past spring has been a one-of-a-kind situation. A tremendous surprise to many that we could not have predicted.

I am sure that many officials are wondering what 2020-21 will look like. I can tell you that all MIAA schools and Association leaders are wondering the same things. We just do not know and every week we seem to learn a bit more.

For those fall officials, and for that matter all officials for the entire school year, thinking ahead to the fall of 2020, the MIAA Board of Directors has organized a COVID Task Force to look at the challenges ahead. Our Sports Medicine Committee is also meeting frequently to better understand the impact on the health and safety of you as officials and all participants in interscholastic athletics. There are no firm answers at this time, but I can assure you that the MIAA Board of Directors, the MIAA Sports Medicine Committee and all athletic directors across the state are attentive to planning for the fall.

When any group knows more, we will work to inform all constituents connected to our educational athletics efforts.

Thank you again for your work and dedication to your profession!
