    Centercourt / Red Bulls

Looks like CFC has outsourced all soccer related operations to Red Bulls

HARRISON, N.J. (May 4, 2020) – The New York Red Bulls announced today a Youth Development partnership with Centercourt FC to operate all aspects of the club’s youth soccer program.

Centercourt Club and Sports operates a wide portfolio of sports programming in the Northeast with eight sports training facilities throughout the state of NJ, representing over 750,000 square feet of field, turf and court space.

As a result of the partnership, Centercourt FC will become part of the Red Bulls Youth Programs family, the nation’s leading player development pathway. A complete club-development program will be implemented providing technical services throughout all age groups, daily program oversight and long-term strategic leadership. Benefits will include onsite Red Bulls coaching staff that will be dedicated full time to Centercourt FC, Red Bulls curriculum and RED Print access, player clinics, team training, parent education workshops, and seasonal training camps.

“We are looking forward to welcoming Centercourt FC and their teams to the Red Bulls family,” said David Jervis, Sr Director of Youth Programs and Academy Business Operations. “ Centercourt has established an impressive range of quality sports programing, combining the expertise of the Red Bulls player development system with the resources and world class facilities of Centercourt Clubs and Sports, will offer players in the region with a top class training environment and for the most talented players a pathway into the Red Bulls Pre-Academy and Academy structure”.

Matt Rizzuto, COO/CFO of Centercourt said: “Centercourt FC is excited and proud to announce we have signed a partnership agreement with The New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer so that together we can provide our players with an enhanced, professionally structured development training program and pathway led by Red Bulls coaches who will be fully dedicated to Centercourt. The New York Red Bulls philosophy matches our own approach to teaching and coaching youth sports, which is to create a fun, challenging environment utilizing best in class facilities and coaches. Team practices, small group training and games will continue to be held at Centercourt facilities in Gillette and Morristown. We look forward to many great things to come from this partnership.”

    CFC is done

CFC let go of all of their coaches almost immediately after Pandemic hit. The coaches are starting a new club on their own so now CFC HAD to find another option to be viable for this Fall. I predict CFC will fold- none of their teams are returning in the Fall. They also provided ZERO content for the Spring and Matt has offered a 24% refund of the fees paid for the year. What a joke that place is.

The announcement about the new club being run by the former CFC coaches happened so quickly after the layoff that it makes me think they had this in the works.

I feel bad for the kids from CFC who are getting even more screwed over by the business of soccer.

Is there a link to the details about the coaches starting a new club?

The first I heard of CFC getting rid of the coaches and a new club starting was the thread on here on 3/24. World started falling apart on 3/13 so using that 11 day window it seems kind of fast without some prior discussions.

My kid played against a few CC teams at a few different events and from what I saw (good players and non-abrasive coaches), it seemed like a good club.

The news about CC hiring RB trainers makes very little sense to me.

I understand why some clubs hire RB to do the training and/or game-day coaching. For local/town clubs run by volunteer parents with limited time, it makes sense to outsource training and the work needed to hire/train/schedule/manage the trainers.

But for a club like CC that appears to have the facilities/infrastructure to hire a coaching director or other full-time role to manage the club's affairs including coaches/trainers, I just don't get it.

If my kid played there or was thinking about it, I'd definitely reconsider. If this club outsources its coaches/trainers, then what exactly is the parent paying for?

              New club info

New club can found at www.thefootballacademynj.com. Don't feel too bad for the CFC players- most if not all are going to the new club. CC has not provided any content or refunds for the Spring season and cancelled already plus the hiring of the red bulls proved to the parents CC is not focused on the soccer program at all.

Very odd that they have zero information about who owns/started it or any coaches...if it is former CFC staff then there must be more to it. If CC simply let them go/fired them then they would be free to put their name(s) on the website...plus the fact that it was up and ready to go so fast with a new facility in Florham park which Matchfit was supposed to be the only soccer club there...

Something is a little fishy about it all...

Statement applies to both CFC and STA

Yup. If I had to guess, I’d say that the CFC coaches were looking for a bigger piece of the pie and got caught trying to bring their teams over to the Florham Park place.

                            Cfc

Even if the coaches had the new club in the works it does not excuse CEntercourt not giving Full refunds for the season. Centercourt is pushing all expenses to the parents (even coaches uniforms and tournament fees for tournaments that never happened for which they’ll get a credit). They are doing everything possible to break even/ make a profit for the year and leave the players and parents high and dry. They are claiming they are under no obligation to refund any of the money and are doing a service by offering a credit. Honestly the worst run business. They completely deserve the coaches starting their own club. Anyone considering signing up to play at CFC in the fall should know exactly what they are getting.

Well if it’s true that most players are leaving then there really isn’t an incentive for CFC to give any refunds.
