    Upcoming Fall for South Jersey

has everyone committed for the fall yet to a club or are you still holding out to see what happens

    #2
Not sure how many clubs even put out for commits yet. Who would pay without seeing how their kid fared during tryout, spoken to the coach or seen which team they would be placed? Daughters club put out for commits with no money and that everyone will be on the same team. Um so either they aren't having tryouts, new players won't be on either team, current 2nd team players can't move up, or they are going to have more players per team. They did say cost would be same as last year but didn't say what was included. This is a former DA team that moved to GAL.

Be smart and do not commit without knowing exactly what team you’ll be on and who will be on the team. Ask ahead of time, if the club is not willing to share or is being evasive then you know it’s prob not a good situation.

i agree. don’t commit until you see what team your on and also the quality of who they are bringing in. A majority of the clubs put pressure on the girls to commit because they were definitely worried about losing them. pretty pathetic

Yes CSA keeps emailing us to commit every couple days, no $$$ required to secure a spot. Great deal

Some clubs are also offering spots without even seeing the players, literally just register and you made the club (team tbd later)!

This type of deal (like the CSA) is almost the worst (I guess not asking for money yet is nice) you can take. Yes, accept a spot in a club and age group with no info about which team, teammates, or coach your daughter will have. This is just a business ploy to lock you into a contract. How can anyone accept this type of deal unless you are worried that your kid will have no spot anywhere.

Don’t want to point out the obvious, but south jersey has already fallen. No one is upcoming to fall again.

Well they have great facilities and very nice people so that should count for something. You be ok if you accept they take care of you.

No, that doesn't count. Unless you have a firm offer from a specific team and coach, you are completely trusting the club. You assume your kid is on the GAL team and then show up to find out they are on the EDP squad (whether deserved or not). CSA does this of course to "maintain flexibility" in case all of pda blue shows up for a spot, but what it actually does is it takes all the certainty out of the commitment and gives the power to the club.

parents fall for too. they get pressured to make them think they won’t have a spot for their daughter they don’t

Well any club that pressures you that’s a bad sign. The less pressure to sign the dotted line the more secure they are about what they have with or without your kid. Bottom line if you think you have a good team, coach then commit. Don’t worry so much about the league the club etc.

Not to be the bringer of bad news, but I’m hearing more and more from knowledgeable people that this fall is looking very, very doubtful.
