      I've heard of a few:

      FC Virginia, Baltimore Armory, Penn Fusion, Washington Spirit, Arlington

      My understanding is it's the same as GDA last year, but not my area of expertise

        Yippee...very “local” flavor! If true a league of the haves (STA, SSS, OW) and have nots (the rest) not balanced at all. Plus the travel seems attributions esp if you’re CSA.

            i thought they were looking for a name. I dont think "GAL" is going to be final the consumer facing name. I sure hope they do better than that. The league doesn't look that bad, though. Is it ECNL? No but for kids who want to stay with their clubs and aren't shooting for top 25 schools it should provide a decent experience.

              Love the very exclusive name Girls Academy League! Where the heck is SJEB are they in it????

                Perfectly said. Exactly the way this league should be sold. Huge market for it.

                  The schools talking to my kid are not top 25 schools. Frankly, she's not good enough. No shame in that.

                  There is a mix of several D1s and a couple D2s and there will likely be at least a little money thrown our way. This is a fine pathway for us, all things considered.

                  I get that makes us 2nd tier, oh well. I can live with that.

                    This league will likely put ECNL out of business! Hop on board folks! It will be run by the best and brightest and the limitation of no HS (matter of fact I think HS is great for development) is no longer an issue and a selling point for ECNL. They are for sure threatened by the new great product so buckle up.
