With the DAs demise wonder if academies will do the smart thing and continue not allowing their players not to play HS ball. The product is extremely bad and it may actually ruin some players. I know all the DAs heavily criticized HS soccer (saying it’s trash, bad for development, injures players etc). Will they now suddenly change their tune or maintain the old message? Any thoughts/ideas??

I always been negative about it too as per your reasons listed. I'm more understanding about it now but for me, what has to change is the staff. If we want to bring high school soccer back, Athletic Directors need to hire qualified coaches and pay accordingly. Not have these gym teachers. You would then see better quality programs.

You’ll never get the best coaches taking high school jobs. The bottom line will be now every family has a choice. If you don’t like it nobody will blame you for not playing. If you want to play, a club can no longer tell you that you can’t. Don’t expect much learning outside of a handful of schools in the whole state.

What HS coach would turn away a talent that played in DA? Have you seen most of these teams? Wouldn't be surprised if more school choice moves happened so teammates could play HS together as well.

And I bet the former DAs will also all of the sudden change their tune from HS soccer is awful and bad for development to every kid should play and enjoy it! It’s all about what suits their business model not what suits the kids or the truth. If no HS is really best these DAs should really stick to that. They don’t realize what the impact of their deceit has on each kid. Really disappointing.
