Not sure it says the league is dead, just "U.S. SOCCER DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY SUSPENDS OFFICIAL OPERATIONS THROUGH END OF APRIL AND CANCELS 2020 ALLSTATE SPRING CUP AS PRECAUTION AGAINST SPREAD OF CORONAVIRUS"

No - DA soccer is being terminated completely. Looks like the inferior HS programs win out.

So...all those girls who were SO happy to not be "forced" to play HS soccer to fulfill their parents' fantasies will be doing what next fall? Just training with their clubs and running cross country? Or is that also a parental push only? Definitely won't be seeing them play lowly HS soccer, I hope!

The non-MLS DA clubs are either going to form a regional league or go ECNL. They will now have to play in 'regular' tournaments'. Can't wait to see the Seacoast parents faces when the start losing to NEP teams...Ha

As a preDA parent, whose daughter liked her team too much to switch, I am pretty happy that she can try out for her school and not have it mean ditching her club.

Not necessarily. We don't know which direction this will go yet.

I have said it over and over again... the no HS soccer rule was keeping kids away, not drawing them in.

Yes, you certainly have said it over and over (and over and over) again....

Seacoast DA parents are worried all their DA kids are in trouble...people will finally be able to see just how bad their players are!

Ahhhh...I see we are back to picking on the kids again. And, yes, you are picking on the kids while trying to hide behind the "Seacoast DA parents" scam.

I don't think so. These people point blank said NPL wasn't good enough. And they've said HS isn't good enough and the only girls who play it are forced by their parents. Therefore, I do not expect to see any former GDA players on NPL teams or HS rosters. They must all be taking their elite kids to ECNL and taking falls off from competition. Only move that would make sense given what has been said.
