    Spring Season

With Governor Murphy saying there is almost no chance of school resuming this year, it's safe to say the spring season is over. https://www.nj.com/education/2020/04...rnor-says.html

EDP should stop with the bullsh*t of the possibility of a season starting anytime in May. No school=no season.

Playing in June and July is still an option. It still may be too soon to cancel the season.

What fields will they play on? If schools are closed for the rest of the year, school, town and county fields will not be available over the summer. Hopefully we are back to normal by the fall.

I think mid July early August is possible. Any earlier is false hope.

All about the $$$$ they don’t want to lose all that revenue just think about it it’s prob in the hundred of thousands if not approaching millions. I hope we have a season even if it’s a short one but will may be very difficult if not unsafe to fit in.

If EDP cancels, it puts pressure on clubs to give out refunds. EDP will stall as long as they can.

If anyone has brains up top they’ll see that the cases in young people are next to nothing. Let the kids and one coach go back. Tell the parents to stay home or sit in their cars. Better for everyone if that happens anyway.

This one is the stupidest things I’ve read. People like you are the problem. This idea works until your child, god forbid, got sick then you would be screaming it was too soon. And that one coach...how do you decide which one? The youngest who’s presumed healthiest and then brings it home to spread to a compromised elder. Stfu with this nonsense

Exactly. The person you quoted completely ignores the huge chunk of cases where people have zero or minimal symptoms. Your kid gets it and spreads it to your household and anyone who they interact with (grandparents, extended family, friends, etc.) who in turn spread it to other people THEY interact with. Soccer is a physical game, so to suppose that kids wouldn't come into contact with each other is ridiculous.

I would love for my kid to be training and playing now/soon, but how can we without rapid, on demand testing let alone a treatment and/or vaccine?

Correct, why shouldn’t academies survive just like all the other businesses that are getting rescued by the government. This is where things are not fair.

I think you are thinking of hospitalization and death rates for kids as compared to adults and elderly (which are much lower). The actual infection rate for kids isn't (according to the newest data) that different from other age groups. It's all about contact with people who are infected. It just so happens the adults are going to work and stores now while their kids are staying home in general.

It’s youth soccer. Relax buddy. The world will survive without it.

What does this have to do with having the kids start playing under that person's scenario? Yes they are businesses and should get relief from these government bills.

You think academies are the only businesses suffering right now? It is not safe for youth sports at this time, plain and simple. Stop being closed minded, unreal.
