    ‘Elite Tournaments’

Offered no refunds and only a 50% credit to a future tournament for the cancelled Boys & Girls Baltimore mania tournament despite their website stating they carry full tournament insurance.

What a sham of an organization. They cancelled 2-3 weeks out also.

That is disgraceful, should be boycotted in the future. Spread the word. Total sham

That's actually lawsuit worthy. Problem is that it's likely an LLC with no money in it.

I guess they don't plan on being in business going forward. No one on their right might mind would ever attend that thing after that.

The single largest expense of any tournament is ref fees. They'll have none. It's criminal that they are keeping any money at all.

Our club was also due to enter.

Fair to say we have no interest in attending any more events they put on, it’s such a shame that organizations are looking to profiteer from all of this.

Is a profiteer kind of like a musketeer?

Not familiar with that event, but if they rent fields, that was probably an upfront cost that they might not get back. Printing up materials and shirts might be the same. Is it a club sponsored event? Maybe the club doesn’t charge much bc they fund it with that event? I don’t have the answers to any of the above. Just throwing out possibilities. A credit to future events sounds reasonable. Not sure why 50% only though. Jeff Cup has come out and offered a new date in July, but if that is cancelled, or if you can’t go, there will be no refunds and no credit.

I think everyone needs to use common sense. If everyone screams about refunds, then you will see thousands going out of business. As long as an effort is made to make it up somehow. Credits or what not. Everyone needs to work together to weather the storm. I wonder how pro sports teams and concert venues will handle cancelations? I’m pretty sure I read stubhub will not be giving refunds but will be giving credits.

Refunds or credits are acceptable. Either one shows good faith. Simply keeping money for no product or service is criminal.

No entity can charge for something they can not provide. Refunds have to be made in the case of field rentals.

I wouldn’t expect a cash refund. More likely a credit applied or something like that.

Hmmmmm....look up Jeff Cup they will offer more refunds whatsoever. Talk about absolutely shameful.
