Any word on the internet streets about a GDA to ECNL switch for any of the PA clubs?

I wish PF SJEB and PA Classics would all jump ship. That would be a nice semi local division with the existing PA and NJ teams.

SJEB...What a joke. They can't even compete in DA. How would they be able to compete in ECNL? SJ doesn't have the numbers or financially capable parents to support a DA or ECNL club.

It's sad, not a joke, that families need to be well off for their kids to play in a top league.

Agree and that’s part of the problem with US Soccer, so many kids that cannot afford the travel, hotels, meals etc will not be able to play DA, ECNL etc. Sad it’s a middle-upper white suburban sport for the most part.

Im a white suburban middle upper and I don't have the disposable income or time for $3500+ just to be on a team plus travel on a weekly basis 3hrs+ or overnight stays for league games plus multiple tournaments that require time off work just to get to and hotel stays. Not for an under 14 age player.

I'm in the same boat. This is my daughter's first and last year at ECNL. I have other kids and can't be spending 9 weekends a year traveling for soccer. It's a shame because she's a good player.. Back to EDP.

It's a good thing that every community offers soccer to meet the budget of all people. Community based soccer programs are cheap. There are both local level travel soccer programs and town rec programs, all at low cost.

Ditto, ECNL not worth it until U16 age if your kid really wants to play D1 - and I’m not even sure it’s worth it then!

Way to much time, money and travel required at to young of an age - burns the kids and parents out, ECNL should have stuck to their original model of not starting until U15. Way to early now!

Couldn't agree more with your age rational. But starting before U15 means they can make more money

It all depends on what is best for your family. My kid started ECNL last year at U15, she loves it and as a family we love it. We don't find the travel or overnights that taxing, it's maybe 2-3 a season, this season would've required 3 for her team. Sometimes both parents go, sometimes we don't, sometimes it's 1 parent...depends on whatever else we have going on.

Good for you but we can’t afford it although our daughter is more than able to play at that level. We are a lower middle class family and the 10k plus a year is just too much. I don’t you don’t care but there is some reality for you.

And you did it right! No need for ECNL before U15- you have proved the points made. Your daughter and family love it because she just started playing ECNL at U 15. Which is the age all should be starting, U13-14 way to young and completely unnecessary.
