If they are dumb enough to hold the tournament, COVID19 will be the big winner.

          They just sent this email:

The Jefferson Cup is continuing to monitor the developing situation with respect to the COVID-19 Coronavirus. We will communicate to all participating teams in the event the CDC or other public health authorities issue any specific recommendations or restrictions that would impact or apply to Jefferson Cup games or event weekends.

At this time, unless there is an updated travel advisory or restriction put into place by the CDC that impacts the locations of specific teams, the Jefferson Cup will continue on as currently scheduled.

We advise that all teams continue to monitor and follow recommendations on prevention and other factors from their local and federal public health authorities.

To assist in limiting potential transmission of any respiratory illness, the Jefferson Cup is recommending the following procedures for games in the coming weeks:

          · Eliminate post-game handshakes to avoid unnecessary personal contact

          · Any players, parents, or supporters with any symptoms should not to attend competition or training

Common-sense, everyday preventive actions should also be taken, including:

          · Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

          · Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

          · Stay home when you are sick.

          · Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

          · Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

Additionally, here are additional resources from the CDC and other organizations regarding the Coronavirus:

          · CDC - Prevention and Treatment

          · CDC - Travel

          Thank you!

Yes, but some families were expecting to fly. Without them participating, Jeff Cup will likely be cancelled.

They would need a lot of teams dropping out to cancel. If teams still go, getting there is up to individual choice and figuring out how to get there. There is no reason not to fly unless you're in a high risk group. Definitely fine to drive

My friend was on a Southwest flight today and he was 1 of 10 passengers on the entire flight. Rightly or wrongly, people are spooked. No parent (and their kids) are getting on a plane to go to Jeff Cup....

Staying in hotels and interacting with lots of people is no different than being on a cruise can’t see how Jeff Cup doesn’t get cancelled. If I get Corona I’m suing them

                      Don't go. It's that simple.

Lol I tried to change a flight departure - not even cancel - and the wait time with the airline was four hours.

It's bigger than the flights. There's a chance that the kids from New York & Mass will spread the disease up and down the seaboard.

This obviously should be canceled. The fact that it isn't speaks to a total vacuum of leadership. People just aren't going to take this seriously until we turn into Italy, which at this rate will be in about 10 days.

Given those numbers, flight sounds safe. Little risk of exposure.
