I heard two 05 from Reign transferred to XF 05 ECNL last week and played in Portland this weekend. I didn't know that XF allowed mid-season transfers. There is 22 on the roster. I can only imagine how p.o. the parents must be. Is this a trend people are seeing in other clubs?

Comparing the 05 rosters there is one name in common so one confirmed transfer (included in the 22) and did play this past weekend in Portland. Teams will always have room for impact players at any point in the season. And I'm sure the local ECNL teams are plenty happy to get back at Reign with some mid season poaching of their own.

mid-season transfers
So a large roster does not mean those players are full time on that roster. If a b team player plays up due to an Ecnl injury, they are added to the roster.

Two girls from outside clubs also transferred to XF 03 ECNL and played in Portland. How fair is this to the teams if they keep adding players?

XF is paying all the costs associated for these ECNL adds so I don't see how the current parents have any right to complain.

Again if the club is paying there's really no responsibility to the player. It's about putting together the best team they can. On other ECNL teams where parents are paying then I agree there should be a loyalty to the current players to provide playing time.
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostI’m not complaining. But for the 04 and 03 players, this is an important year to be seen by colleges. Should clubs have any responsibility to their prime recruiting aged players to help them maximize their exposure by capping their rosters at 20-22 or is it all about winning at all cost? This is still youth soccer. Competing for playing time is one thing, but knowing players playing in DA or ECNL are trying to actively get recruited, the club should make exposure for all their priority to make this happen.

Never expect the club to be loyal to your kid...you gotta monitor to make sure the club is working for your child and be ready to move on. Don't operate on trust or you will be disappointed. Soccer is insane.

Or what we should be looking for?

Quit living in fantasy land. Soccer clubs are nonprofits for tax purposes only with no charitable component despite what their propaganda may say and the used soccer gear they collect and send to Honduras once a year. Just like private schools. They're businesses who want to stay in business.
