Anyone have any experience with NJ Premier? Not sure my kids are ready for PDA and the multi team club. Their younger teams seem pretty decent...

1) Lots of touches everyday, work with them;

3) Lots of clinics, lots of pick up games
ECNL and GDA are all overrated.
Start with skills, running (careful that it is age appropriate running and physical workouts)
NJ Premier is a decent club, and if you think your child can play at DTS, then they will be accepted to ECNL or GDA too.
Ignore the parents at ECNL and GDA, no one is your friend. They will stab you in the back when they get the chance.
Again, work with your child, get out and play with them, make sure its fun, and then when they really love it, people will notice.

Good and bad advice. ECNL and GDA are not overrated vs EDP, NL, NPL or any other league. Better athletes, skilled players and more exposure.

Not sure I think they are a brand new club, they seem to be popping up all over the place these days. Either way do your homework, if the training is top notch then they should be considered.

NJ Premier is the former Watchung Elite teams. Club was started when DTS split from Watchung's program. I only have exp with 1 age group going against them. They were tough and physical but not very well trained and the coach repeatedly tried to check by running onto the field to a player every time they fell down and then walking off with the kid only to stop half way and go back to their position when the ref wasn't looking. The 1 time the ref noticed he laid into the coach for it and made sure the player left the field when he stepped on the field.
You would have better options in that area, PDA, STA, WCFC, Fury, Torpedoes, PSA, CS, MF should all be within an hour of NJ Premier. Check out EDP, DA and ECNL clubs and look for ones in your area. Go to tryouts and/or practices. If you can go to a game or 2 to see how the coaches interact with the kids.

If you have a boy, and you live in Central NJ, ECNL is not worth it. There are too many good clubs, nothing wrong with "town clubs". It gives you more time to do what you want, and not what somebody else wants you to do.
If you have a girl, the GDA and ECNL are good steps up.
Regardless, don't let anyone take away your freedom to play, train or watch whomever you want.
Don't forget to have fun!

Correct outside training or playing for any team while playing GDA not allowed. If caught you may be suspended or kicked off team. This is a USSF rule and enforcement so your club will be able to do nothing about it.

Yes they do have to train 4x a week but rarely do as players don’t show up on a regular basis with no consequences. If they decided to sit or suspend players due to missing practices they would have no teams in a hurry. So the whole mandatory 4x week DA practice is a sham, just like them enforcing no playing in HS.

- some players are allowed to train with satellite clubs (eg csa)
- some clubs have "game review/tactical" sessions
- some clubs have "fitness" sessions
there is no mention of outside training explicitly, just commitment and competition. many clubs join in external competition via "futsal" or "scrimmages" with non-gda clubs.
before you go ballistic and start ratting players out, many of the activities are typically sanctioned or OKed by the DOC.

Correct, special treatment (aka “approval”) granted in special cases others told flat out no. Very loose case by case approach much like the HS playing situation. Some allowed to do it others not so much....and that is the problem.
