Huh? Some players have left Reign for Xfire and vice versa in the last year -- what is this kick around? I'm a Xfire parent and haven't heard this...

Reign have always been pretty clear kids are welcome to check out other clubs and find the best fit. The concept of consumer choice is foreign to xf, su and some other clubs in the area, who often seem to believe it is up to a soccer club that you’re paying thousands of dollars to decide whether or not to “allow” you to consider your options.

Do you mean they had a friendly? More friendliness would be nice

So true. There be spies everywhere. I know it is policy at XF and Pac if they catch you training with other clubs you will be kicked out. So, you have to be so covert and sneaky about switching clubs or trying out at the Reign.

So this and the original post are some sort of snarky code way of saying that one or more kids from reign g05 are checking out XF for a potential future move? Got it. As always, there will be folks who think the turf is gonna be greener elsewhere, and for some kids a move to or from any of xf, reign, su, pac, Eastside or wpfc will just make sense for their particular situation.

I thought XF had the rule about two years in club before you can get free travel and fees. Maybe things have changed. Feel bad for the current xf girls. Some are going to be replaced if some of the reign girls come in.

I don't know if that rule is followed. Several girls from Reign and other club ECNL have moved to Xfire for this season, and some Xfire girls went to Reign last year etc. It sucks to have someone come in and take your starting spot, but it happens in sports. The club won't be loyal to you. Families need to find the coach and team environment where the kid can thrive and sometimes that means moving.

No. The top 12-16 players have already been offered a position on ECNL (former DA) teams. If you haven’t received a call yet, plan to pay to play.

Yes they are. Just depends on the age and the team.

If you are playing on one of the teams that funds travel for the DA/ECNL teams, join us!! It’s great - development, shmelovent, right?

And yes, those top team invites have gone out. If you haven’t heard, you are Tier 2, maybe Tier 3

They have not all gone out yet, but many have. They set the top first and then trickle it down to the rest, and some clubs are actually following the rules as far as making offers.

I would contact the coach of any club you are interested in rather than waiting for the opposite to happen.

I manage for XF, I know they had over 80 registered for G06 age group as of wed, and they are still setting their rosters. 3 teams 80+ kids not everyone is going home happy. There will still be a lot of movement after invites sent as I'm guessing many Reign players have registered at multiple clubs and will just take the best offer.
