    Surf is coming East

It looks like they're taking a page out of the Rush playbook and may be becoming a for profit model. San Diego Surf is the original and I assume it's still the best. It doesn't matter what the badge says or what the name of the club is, the club is only going to be as good as the trainers and coaches are. Bad trainers = a bad club.

I never realized how many Surf franchises there are....

Good. Because we need more clubs. We don’t have enough.

Anyone see where they are expanding to in the east other than already being NY?

So pumped that the McDonalds franchise model is coming to soccer in MA. Will coaches run sessions dressed up as Ronald McDonald or the Hamburglar?

Grimace was impossible to understand when he spoke, so he is 100% AP.

CT poster here - Surf came to NY metro are a few years with a lot of hoopla and it's gone nowhere. They hired a bunch of college coaches who didn't stay long, their teams are mediocre. I do think it's very franchise like in that who is in charge locally really matters.

                      We don't need more clubs

lol they claim to be the #1 GDA team in the country. Like any clubs they have some very good teams, and some less so. They haven't gotten DA in NY (as someone posted they've done nothing in NY). Will they come as just another "premier" club? W T F needs more of that?

Surf Soccer = Garbage In, Garbage Out

Greedy, slimy local operators looking to take advantage of the economies of scale afforded them by a national franchise model, specifically discounts in purchasing kits, software/back-end systems.

None of it has any positive impact on what really matters, which is the development environment and player opportunities that the club creates for its players.

Do we need another club? The answer is obviously no, especially one filled with the wrong kind of operators (greedy, slimy, untrustworthy).

I think you just named a good amount of clubs already in MA.
Unfortunately most clubs are run with the idea of growth not matter where and throwing their name on something to make some extra money. I think we are well past the point of clubs just trying to develop players.

So the last thing the state needs is another one. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
