Brown Men's Soccer- what is going on?

Has anyone noticed the recent very aggressive recruitment by an otherwise non player in Ivy Men's Soccer? Wonder what is happening in Providence? New soccer specific stadium, committing to High School Juniors and Sophomores. Seems like some serious $$$ has been doled out to the program by certain individuals.

Brown. The most liberal school in the most liberal conference in the country. 4 wins. Some terrible losses. A place that despises “jocks”. Have fun

Their women’s soccer team is #1 in the Ivy. I don’t think the place hates jocks... just not enough D1 Mens talent that has the academic chops to make be accepted to Ivy and has the financial resources to afford it. At my D’s private school, the President’s list/4.0 GPA’ers are predominately female. The few males with the grades/SAT’s are not athletes by any stretch.

The 4.0/1500 ones going to Brown know that male and female are adjectives not nouns.

Thought the significant chunks of the Tufts team could play for Harvard, why not recruit them to Brown?

The new construction is not a stadium (although they will be replacing the turf soon), and it's not soccer-specific. Rich guy's kid plays lacrosse, this is his freshman year, dad wanted his son to have top notch facilities for his whole college career. So there's a new Lax/Soccer building going up. Coaches' offices, conference rooms, locker rooms. But he only splashed out enough money to build locker rooms for the home team. Visiting teams have to use the old ones in the old building. Classy.

I could see why a relatively smart, athletic person would choose Tufts over Brown. Tufts is a better school, better location, and they are both essentially D3.

Hopefully you are joking. I am allegedly the big D3 defender here and I genuinely admire what the Tufts men's program has accomplished over the past 6 or so years. That said, the last sentence above is absurd.

If you think Tufts is a better school than Brown it is only because you didn't attend either school. Tufts is a great school, but it is also a traditional safety school for Brown applicants. Brown is one of the best universities in the world hands down.

I think I misunderstood the title of this thread. Why are we talking about college, when we should be talking about helping players with more pigmentation
